Lightweight contender Beneil Dariush faced the debuting Alexander Hernandez at UFC 222. Hernandez was serving as a late replacement for Dariush’s original opponent Bobby Green. Alex would shock the world with a first-round knockout victory over the ranked Dariush. But many felt the result was tainted by an alleged fake glove touch at the beginning of the fight by Hernandez. He would defend himself in an Ariel Helwani interview after the fight saying he wanted to start aggressive by charging Beneil, and that he also gauges distance with his arms. #ufc #beneildariush #shorts #alexanderhernandez

  1. To be fair he didnt fake a glove touch. It never looked like he was going for one. Also they touch gloves before the fight if theyre gonna do it. Cerrone still humbled him big time though

  2. After watching all these weird interactions where one guy wants to touch n gets faked I say no more glove touch IN THE FIRST ROUND. Yโ€™all just touched gloves during the face off. Yโ€™all can touch from 2nd round on. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  4. "Fake" implies that he held his hand out for the tap, and then withdrew it. He never did. This was clean.

  5. This was his first ufc fight. I think he was just so focused on the fight that he wasnโ€™t thinking about the glove tap. So I donโ€™t think he was trying to be dirty.
