      Has any manager ever actually "coached" a team to a title? We only know what Pep can do with access to lots of money…..and of course with players who are well known to anyone following football. Maybe Leicester's coach whoever that is. I couldn't name a single player on their title winning team. Pep basically had spain's world cup title team on his Barcelona squad. And what value can we put on Messi's contributions to Pep's success?

      They said that last season. Spending well is far more than spending big. United, Chelsea, Spurs etc prime examples

      When arsenal finished 5th last season the same topic arose, if they don’t spend a huge a amount of money they won’t make top 4. Even when arsenal brought in Zinchenko and Jesus they were still not considered favourites for a top 4 spot.

      Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and City were all praised for their transfer business and look how that went for three of them.

      So on that basis how can you say they need to spend £200m plus. I do however think the squad needs to be bolstered with quality and they no need to be ruthless and get rid of the average players.

      Simon is 💯 right about Arteta lack of tactical nous. Him being stubborn has cost us just as much as our lack of proper investment in Jan. He is a good couch and has made players better. But if you can’t motivate players for a title run in when they are 8 points clear shows what he lacks as a manager. Let’s see why we do in the summer but I’m not holding my breath for the type of signings that will transform us from 2nd to title winners.

      Ridiculous that Mr Jordon thinks they need to spend 200 million to stay in the top 4.
      They are fighting for 2nd at the moment even if they dont buy a single player. This Arsenal are going to get scary, as most EPL teams cannot handle their possession style. They will only add quality players and they wont sell their starlets. Arteta does seem to have incredible motivational powers like Pep. So it will be a titanic battle between the two next year. Especially if Gundagan and Silva leaves city.
      The other day Neville and Carraghar said Manchester United would challenge city next season and not Arsenal.
      All of these pundits are sleeping on Arsenal again.

      Funny that. Even Simon Jordan is reactionary sometimes. Apparently Arsenal will just start next season the way the ended this, and Chelsea will suddenly become good overnight lol. Then when they come close, it will be that they “bottled it”

      completely disagree with Simon……. our players are good enough to win the league (otherwise, we wouldn't be able to accumulate so many pts in one season)…… the problem is, the dressing room needs someone to come in and put enough motivation and pressure on players to finish that "last hurdle"…… this last month of PL is usually about rather grit than beautiful football……. if we treated each game this last month as we treated the one at Newcastle, the title would be COMFORTABLY home…… so, it's obviously not about lack of skill, it's about lack of mentality…… we lost all the important pts in "winnable" games…… if City and Newcastle were the only games we'd lose, we'd still end up winning the title comfortably……. instead we tanked games with teams playing relegation battle(and Liverpool, which was at the time average at best) 🤷🤷‍♂🤷‍♀ if you beat all those teams during first half of the season, then it's obviously not about lack of skill……. that's mentality issue

      Arsenal need to spend 200 million to sustain a title challenge against the unstoppable force that is Manchester City, I AGREE. Spending 200 million to stay in the top 4 is absolute rubbish this team and manager have achieved 81 points that would get them into the top 4 every single season for the past 23 years.

      I just don’t understand some of you guys how selfish are you honestly how can you make this kind of statements because it’s Arsenal so they need to spend more than 200 million to stay in the top four seriously 😢
      A team that challenge for the title this year the best team in the league come on be more honest with yourselves.
      That’s why talk sport is the least 😂

      500 mil at current prices for the squad we need. Rice at 120 Brighton players 120 mil thats the midfield CB LB striker extra depth for the bench
