      You're opinion is ignorant, short sighted and biased. Coutinho has done some spectacular things and is very good at unlocking defenses and making world class passes but Allen does offer more than Coutinho. He's more well-rounded and the stats prove that. His ball retention and defensive abilities are far ahead of Coutinhos which is why BR has Allen in the middle and Coutinho on the wing. You know nothing and should refrain from arguing with people on the internet. Good day and stay safe. : )

      True, but Coutinho is more of a luxury player and Allen does offer more in terms, not only for defense, but also possession(ball retention). It's also very difficult to knock Allen off the ball as we've seen from the beginning of last year and this pre-season. Where as Coutinho is very easy to knock off the ball. These attributes are why Allen will start centrally and Coutinho will be used most likely on the wing or when we need some extra attacking power. Although Allen has been stellar.

      Coutinho is better at retaining the ball in the final third and moving the ball forward in the final third which is an important attribute for an attacking midfielder. Coutinho is a genius, Allen is a worker. They offer different attributes but if I was to choose an attacking midfielder it would be coutinho over allen. If i was to choose a central midfielder i would pick allen over coutinho. Coutinho is definitely more of an asset on the pitch than allen. Allen is a tidy player though.

      Coutinho's pass completion was 72% compared to allens 89% Loss of possesion is scewed due to Allens injury and Coutinho playing less than half the minutes of allen. I do prefer Coutinho as AM. Allen has really suprised me this pre-season. I think he has stepped up his game in every aspect compared to last year, even when he was in good form at the beginning of last season. I don't think playing Coutinho as a AM against some of the more physical and aggressive sides would be advantageous for us.

      I'm a bit heart broken to be honest… I wanted to continue to experience all that Suarez has to offer at LFC. Watching him game in and game out. Teaming up with the likes of Coutinho, Sturridge, Allen and Gerrard. I was so optimistic about this season. He's such a thrilling player.

      lol Remember last season at the beginning when we played Man City and Joe Allen was man of the match I believe? I think Allen has showed he can deal with physical teams but I also think Hendo is better suited for that role. I can see BR rotating through the 3 of them throughout the season in the AM position. The one issue is that Coutinho is no where near as effective out on the wing. I think we all would hate to see his talent go to waste. We're all head over heels for him. lol

      Easy to get a high pass accuracy if you go for easy passes. Carraghers pass accuracy last year was ridiculously high, does that mean he is like a defensive Xavi? No, it just means he chose to play it safe most of the time, and so he should, at the back. In the attacking third though, the passes coutinho makes with his vision are decisive and can cause havok. Coutinho is the keymaster we've needed for a long time, he unlocks defences.

      Wow you think joe allen is quality because he had a good game at the start of the season lmaooo…. do you remember nearly every game that coutinho has played since he joined were hes been motm nearly every game and nearly every pre season game ? I would say allen has had a decent pre season but so has every single player even coates so stop talking shit please.your saying dont play coutinho as cam agaisnt physical teams play allen instead hahahah are you serious lmaoo do you even watch football

      and allen has better stats because he just sits back and passes to the lb and rb honestly you need to watch matches and then judge not just go on the internet look at some stats and then try and say allen has more to offer than coutinho hahaha

      i know it pisses me off saying that allen is better than coutinho is like saying justin bieber is better than linkin park
      coutinho is a master dribbler he cleans off the road and then make a superb assist can't wait to see that great assosiation with sturridge
      and allen is just a wood making back passes interrupting offensive game
      yeah one preseason goal and suddenly he is a beast? give me a break i was really annoied when we sold shelvey cause jonjo was looking more promsing than Allen

      Shows how little Rodgers knew about the club when he arrived. The "Welsh Xavi, they are gonna love him here" may have gone down well at swansea but not here, When you have watched great passers of the ball like Molby, Souness, McCallister, Alonso & Gerrard you are hardly gonna be on the edge of your seat watching someone hit 5 yard balls sideways & backwards. Jay Spearing could do the same thing and save us £15 million.

      Why is Rodgers forcing Joe Allen down our throats.. Allen is garbage just like borini is garbage.. Allen is not better then spearing or shelvy.. And borini isn't better then Andy Carroll in no way whatsoever! How Rodgers keeps putting Allen ahead of hendo I dunno.. If Rodgers don't stop his stubbornness he will get the sack!

      i know and welsh xavi my ass that guy has nothing of that and besides xavi is a boring player is a good but boring player he is just a guy that 1 yrd passes sometimes he does some awsome passes but Barcelona is not Xavi Messi and iniesta, Barcelona is just messi
