The Ministry of Youth and Sports has extended its congratulations to Ghana’s U-23 national team, the Black Meteors, for qualifying for this year’s U-23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, which will be hosted in Morocco.
The Black Meteors secured their qualification after a 1-0 win against Algeria at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Tuesday afternoon.
The Sports Ministry’s official Twitter handle praised the team’s performance, saying “Congratulations, Black Meteors.” The tweet was shared shortly after the team’s hard-fought victory over Algeria, which sealed their place in the upcoming tournament.

Listen, Afena makes nothing but mistakes with his own career. No one owes him an apology for dropping him out of the World Cup. Look at under 23 going on right now, he's choosing not to play; Again further destroying his own career. The boy has no sense and reacts with emotion. Play under 23 so you can put your game on display, land yourself a better club in the process, and a place on black stars, but he wants to be senseless and emotional. The boy needs to mature and understand the business play under 23 display your talent simple.
