Watched him playing for USA and Ajax (a bit). Dest is good going forward, but, as defender, he is not even average. Lots of work to learn/do on the defensive side. Definitely not better defensively than Emerson used to be or Alonso now. Plus, he doesn't have a hight of Alonso and physically he is not Adam Traore

He can play better at RWB as he is more focused on creating chances rather than finishing chances at LW. Pretty simple tbh

Dest will be a very good option but i would prefer a left player to replace Chilwell. But the good players like Theo hernandez ferland mendy are not available…i prefer Dest to Digne personnally
As an American, I would love dest to come to chelsea. Very skillful, 2-footed and can shoot from outside of the box. Only problem is his defensive awareness and work rate

Dest is HIGHLY technical, and gifted with the ball at his feet. Came up through Ajax academy and has ties to current players on the squad having played with Ziyech and Pulisic… I think system wise he fits to a Tee. only thing that worries me about him is the physical battles that he would have to go into in the premier league. hes very much a finesse player.

I absolutely love Dest as a player, he’d be outstanding with our club Chelsea. Initially he could back Up both LWB & RWB, and possibly RW and LW, if necessary. With that being said, after the way our clubs fans have treated Pulisic, I do not want another American on our club. I love Chelsea, but the shitty way we treat Pulisic has been hard to watch as an American. So I don’t want to see another fellow America go through the same thing. Especially since that it seems a lot of the animosity is simply because of the players nationality. If Dest were to beat our Chillwell for playing time we would never hear the end of the bitching, (Dest is 21, 4 yrs younger than Chillwell). Just my opinion.

Dest has Messi level ball skill.
this is why he can plays so many positions.
but he lacks some key attributes for his position. he’s fast enough to cover mbappé in open transition (we’ve seen it), but he’s not physical enough to handle some of the big agile attacking talent that the EPL has.
for one he’s really small and he’s not that physical. it’s a very timely signing for y’all but, if i’m dest, i’m signing with bayern munich because i don’t want to rotate as the #2 WB. very lukewarm on the whole idea tbh. my heart loves it: and it could be a good signing. but i think we can all see it just doesn’t make the most sense right now (out of all possible outcomes for both club and player).
I wouldn’t want him as a fullback, but he seems like a great wingback option.
