if matthews wants marner & nylander to stay, then trade him, i say trade matthews & marner thats 22.5 million currently which they both will want a raise which will put them over 25 million it is time too move on from both of them and start by building a killer defence, you can get a boat load of 1st round picks, A-List prospects and play off type players, im sick of this running it back it dosent work clearly they had 7 years.for those 2 alone you can build a stanley cup caliber team, they are both SOFT PLAYERS that cant get it done play off time. they both care about MONEY and thier stats.ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

If Keeth is gone, wouldn't Boudreau be a candidate? Also, if I were GM and had to trade either Marner or Nylander I'm going to think about which player performed both through regular season and playoffs.

The decision would be incredibly difficult as I personally don't want to lose any of those three, but if I were GM and ownership wanted a change it's gonna be Marner, and they would get a huge return for Marner.

This team is still very close kids, and I would have done the exact same thing! The players he brought in were legitimate additions and we got through Tampa.

OK, we ran out of jam in the second round and Dubas, yes, he's staying and we should all be incredibly thankful, he's one of the very best GMs in the game who took over a shit group and turned the ship around pretty quickly.

The team as it stands still has solid foundations and as much as we like to freak out and scream at the television, because we would have done things right, we just need to decompress take it easy and look at things from a relaxed, thoughtful state of mind.

The positives – Matthews wants to stay and yes I believe he will get extended. We have a really sturdy solid young goaltender who came in during a playoff run and took command!! He was cool and calm and he played like a seasoned pro!! So our goaltending future is solid, plus we have some excellent young goaltenders in the system also!!

I have complete faith that Matthew Knies can play in the top 6, yes, including the top line!
This is the exact kind of winger you want who can be an offensive threat, plays decent defence, his two way game is solid, and he scoffs pucks and makes space so Matthews will have more high danger shots!!

Jarnkrok was pretty solid through regular season but folded in the playoffs. He's big but doesn't use his size effectively enough to warrant the top winger spot in my opinion. I'd try to keep him but he'd spend most of his time on the third line.

Don't forget we also have a pretty promising rookie in Nick Robertson. To be frank, I was never really sold on Nick. He's too small and now injury prone. I'd rely on the Marlie coach to assess him then decide whether he may help the team more via trade in a package even.

We need to make adjustments on defence and left wing. It's obvious management doesn't want Bunting back, and Knies can replace him on the top line. I really like Bunting, the team needs a shit disturber but Bunting doesn't have control over his pie hole and refs in today's game hold that over certain players and we witnessed it through regular season and playoffs where Bunting was cross checked, elbowed in the skull, smoked into the boards from behind and tripped, some time when a ref is looking directly at him and refused to make the call!!

I am NOT one of those angry monkeys who blame refs for everything and anything, in fact I'm pretty reasonable when it comes to refs and some sketchy calls because normally it weighs out.
But what I saw through regula play and especially in the playoffs was nothing short of outrageous and highly suspicious!!

Last year we're up in game 6 in a game that could have seen Tampa eliminated. One of the zebraskulls makes a phantom call, and we're down a man. Very shortly afterwards another phantom call was made and we're down TWO MEN in a playoff game which we were winning!!

If you give Tampa a two man advantage they WILL score, no doubt!
Look, I'm old, I was alive for the last two Leaf cups, so at least I have that! ") I watched every Leaf game every season and I cannot recall the Leafs or any other team for that matter EVER being down two men in an illumination playoff game!!

Back in the day, before European rules came in and ruined the game, refs basically put their whistles away and only made calls for the most egregious offences.

Look, after the goal was stolen by the refs, who chose to bypass the replay booth folks, and made the call against what cameras filmed!! Even backstabbing weasel turd on a rock Maclean openly stated "the puck was in" during intermission before a live audience!! Nobody can even recall another example where the ref bypassed the replay booth!!

What about the bullshit delaying the game call were a Panther clearly flicked it out, but the ref, who are not supposed to make ANY calls unless they actually see it, or one of the other refs saw it. BULLSHIT ON A SHINGLE!!

Then there's the questionable call against defence phenom Holl (yes that was 100% sarcasm)!!
Marner was elbowed to the skullatorium so hard it took him off his feet!! Watch the replay, the ref was in the opposite corner and was looking directly at Marner, and no call!! Matthews is doing his voodoo in the filthy enemies end, and was 100% tripped and taken off his feet!! A EFFING GAIN, the ref watched it and ignored it!

Then there's the blatant interference in front of Woll which gave the vile pimple poppers a clear unobstructed view while Woll was completely screened!! THAT non call ended up costing the series!!

So, do I actually believe there was clear cut shenanigans? HELLS YES I THINK THERE WERE STINKING SHENANIGANS!!

The league has to do an internal (for starters) investigation into this nonsense because it looked an awful lot like at least a few refs were caught with their filthy mittens in the Mafia cookie jar and they demanded payment with interest paid in full!!!

SOMETHING INCREDIBLY STINKY WENT ON AND IF THE LEAGUE CONTINUES TURN A BLIND EYE (POPPED OUT BY A "WOMAN" WHO WAS ENRAGED FOR BEING CALLED A "WOMAN" WHEN CLEARLY NOBODY ( and by "nobody" I mean – no one on the lunatic left even knows what a woman is!! )

If the Jets trade Hellebuyuk, they need at least one elite player or prospect in return, as Hellebuyuk is an elite top-5 goalie. So if the trade partner is the Devils, then I would think Simon Nemec would be required. If the Kings, then Quentin Byfield or Brandt Clark. That's what I mean by "elite" player or prospect in return.
