Shakib Al Hasan (born 24 March 1987) is a Bangladeshi cricketer and current captain in Test and T20I cricket of Bangladesh national cricket team. He is ranked no 1 all-rounder in ICC ODI and T20I Players rankings. He employs an aggressive left-handed batting style in the middle order and controlled slow left-arm orthodox bowling. He was ranked the 90th most famous athlete in the ESPN 100 in 2019.
Shakib Al Hasan made his test debut in 2007 against India. His breakthrough came in the Test against New Zealand in Chittagong in 2008. In the 2012 Asia Cup, Shakib scored 237 runs, including three fifties, and took six wickets. Bangladesh progressed to the tournament’s final for the first time, where they lost to Pakistan by two runs. Shakib Al Hasan received many awards for his performance in the game. He was the most valuable player of the 2019 World Cup in the 2019 Cricket World Cup for his excellent performance with both bat and ball.[citation needed] He ended up as 3rd most run-scorer in the tournament with 606 runs in total. He has received 31 man-of-the-match awards and 16 man-of-the-series awards in all formats. Currently, he holds the 3rd most Player of the tournament awards in all forms after Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. As of June 2022, Shakib holds the record for the most men’s Twenty20 International wickets, with 119 and for the most wickets in T20 World Cups, with 41.

২০০৬ সালের আগস্ট মাসে জিম্বাবুয়ের বিপক্ষে একদিনের আন্তর্জাতিক ম্যাচে তার অভিষেক হয়। সাকিব বাংলাদেশ ক্রীড়া শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান (বিকেএসপি)- এর একজন প্রাক্তন শিক্ষার্থী। সাকিব ২০১৫ সালের জানুয়ারিতে আইসিসির খেলোয়াড়দের র্যাংকিং অনুসারে টেস্ট, ওডিআই ও টি২০ প্রত্যেক ক্রিকেট সংস্করণে প্রথম ও একমাত্র ক্রিকেটার হিসেবে এক নম্বর অল-রাউন্ডার হওয়ার গৌরব অর্জন করেন। তিনি প্রথম বাংলাদেশী ক্রিকেটার হিসেবে একদিনের ক্রিকেটে ৪,০০০ করার গৌরব অর্জন করেন এবং ২০১৭ সালের ১৩ই জানুয়ারি টেস্টে সর্বোচ্চ ব্যক্তিগত রান (২১৭) সংগ্রাহক হন। তিনি টি২০তে বাংলাদেশের দ্বিতীয় ব্যাটসম্যান হিসেবে ১০০০ রান পূর্ণ করেন ৷ এছাড়া দ্বিতীয় অলরাউন্ডার হিসেবে টি২০তে ১০০০ রান ও ৫০ উইকেট লাভ করেন। ২০১৯ সালের জুনে তিনি দ্রুততম খেলোয়াড় হিসেবে মাত্র ১৯৯ ম্যাচে ৫,০০০ রান ও ২৫০ উইকেট নেওয়ার কৃতিত্ব অর্জন করেন।
সাকিব আল হাসান বিশ্বসেরা ক্রিকেট অলরাউন্ডারের মধ্যে একজন, যিনি একই সাথে দীর্ঘদিন তিন ফরমেটের (টেস্ট, ওয়ান-ডে, টি-২০) ক্রিকেটের শ্রেষ্ঠ, নাম্বার ওয়ান অলরাউন্ডার হিসাবে ছিলেন। ক্রিকেট ইতিহাসে এমন রেকর্ড শুধুমাত্র সাকিবের।
