If we talk about a cb he needs to be good in : Interception ( he always try to drive the attacker and not to take the ball from him) Marking ( he is lost. Ex against vini in ucl) Defensive awareness ( he is not bad he sense the danger ) Ariel duel (he is good but his positioning game is baaad) Speed( not slow but not that fast) Building ( not bad and not good) Aggressiveness ( none since he always get back) Take all of this and compare him to ramos or pepe or varane or koulibaly or nesta you will see how bad is vvd compared to them. The prime vvd was not that good since most of liverpool defensive work was made by the system of high press and not vvd alone and you can add to that the presence of a good gk too… last thing there are players who need to play in good team to be good and other that can be good even if the team is not.
tbf you could make the same video for any defender. Its just how it is with defending, mistakes are more common than you think. Ramos could have a video of the same length if you took every bad pass or every error and replayed it.

Damn, I'm a Liverpool fan, but seeing how blatantly some of the mistakes directly lead to goals is alarming, especially this season. He just hasn't been the same since his ACL injury. It's almost like his mentality got injured along with his leg and he's afraid to really buckle down and assert himself. It's sad to watch.
