With the game locked at 0-0 in the first half, goalkeeper Nick Pope seemed to take out Raul Jimenez in the box, which could have led to a penalty and red card – but referee Andrew Madley awarded a goal-kick and a VAR check did not overturn it.
If Wolves were not already feeling hard done by, just minutes later Alexander Isak headed the Magpies in front, before Wolves had to survive an onslaught to enter half-time at 1-0.
Wolves looked set for a point when Hwang Hee-chan came on and equalised with his first touch, scoring his first Premier League goal of the season, but their joy was short-lived.
Miguel Almiron stepped off the bench to fire home the winner in the 80th minute, as Wolves were condemned to defeat.

Final substitution of Collins I thought was the reason we lost, and JLO admitted he made a mistake. Neto looked good when he came on.🐺
It’s Karma in the reverse fixture, Longstaffs shirt was pulled should of had a penalty. Jimenez threw Schar to the floor in the box, several red card challenges by Wolves. These fans are deluded under the cosh the whole game.
Mind the gap
LOL what? So players dont act, pretend, cheat then? GIve me a break,.
Bitter
Jimenez was going down before he was touched. That being said as a Newcastle fan, I would have been livid if that was against us. I just think he shouldn't have played for the penalty and been honest.
Nick Pope collision with Raul Jimenez when the game was goalless.
At the match I thought that is 100% a red card and penalty. Couldn’t understand how it wasn’t given.
However…whilst there was obviously contact between Pope and Jimenez after the keeper lost control of the ball.
Have a look closely at the TV replays.
Jimenez kicks the ball (out of play) before then Jimenez clearly changes direction after playing it, throwing himself to the right and into the Newcastle keeper, rather than heading left and straight on towards goal, to try to score.
Jimenez clearly trying to get a penalty and red card for Nick Pope
Jimenez could have simply first touch just hit the ball in the empty net…
Poor game of football lol, wolves were lucky not to be 3-4 nil down by halftime, we got absolutely battered in the first half, honestly would have been game over by halftime on another day, this bloke is completely delusional wolves will finish higher then Newcastle next season, is he aware there getting 500 million pounds worth of new sponsorship deals at the end of this season, they will probably be signing another 3-4 top class players at least, I’d be shocked if wolves are even anywhere near them next season thats if wolves say up, Sponsorship deals aside Newcastle have the richest owners in the world and will continue to pour ever penny they possibly can into the club within ffp regulations, wolves owners wont do that, truth is we can’t and wont compete with Newcastle in anyway anytime soon, some people honestly need a reality check
I think the issue is he was already going down because he was anticipating the contact. If he stays on his feet and dosen’t go down before contact pope would have wiped him out and it would have been a red and a penalty.
😢😂
Lets forget about the push on Schar in the Wolves box……and finish above Toon next season?😂sure mate😂
Never a penalty and they were lucky not to be 4 nil down at half time
FOSUN shares have shot up on stock market as Fosun Group Guo Guangcha sold an Iron plant for 2 billion US $ – good for Wolves to have owners with cash 💰
The lad thinks there going to finish above Newcastle next year , think he needs to keep eating them Big Macs and keep his benefit mouth shut
