Alonso is a good lwb with a strong cb next to him, he could even play a left wing/foward/cam role but in tines of high defense he can be a major liability

I gave up on Alonso a while back even when my mates would buzz over a goal I’ll always say he’ll give one away soon enough. Hopefully he’s complete and can compete… I’d rather chilwell but you can’t argue with form, best players have to play.

Yan, Alonso is one of the most technically gifted players in the league let alone Chelsea. His skills are simply sublime when you watch his executions of one time volleys of JOrginho's crosses (which he repeated in training yesterday, exact same attempt from the Palace game) or his free kicks. I think Chilwell is suited against teams like City or United, teams that will come at Chelsea, which will force more defense out of the Chelsea wingbacks however, playing against low block teams, Marcos Alonso is easily the best choice to break down their defenses.
Both players compliment each other brilliantly and Chelsea has a fantastic variety of choice depending on who they're playing given the difference in both players. Fantastic option for Tuchel and I think he realizes this advantage also.

Either one of Tchouameni or Florian Neuhaus would be perfect for our midfield and perfect backup for Jorginho, and then Kante and Kovacic can have the freedom to advance from central midfield to the final third…
