On today’s Scout Report, we’re looking through some of the summer’s biggest deals to see which ones have the chance to go spectacularly wrong – but you won’t find Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez here. Instead, we’ve cast an eye over Manchester United new boy Lisandro Martinez, pinched from under Arsenal’s nose at huge expense. Where will he play for the Red Devils? Can a 5’9” man cut it as a Premier League centre-half, ahead of Varane? Then it’s on to Manchester City, who may have brought in Erling Haaland, but who are radically remaking the squad with the departures of Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal and Sterling to Chelsea. Finally, we look at West Ham’s expensive Nayef Aguerd and ask what drew Moyes to him – and whether he was right to pull a £32m trigger.

  1. Whether united fans like it or not, Martinez’s height or lack thereof is an issue, particularly if united don’t play three at the back. Him, Harry and Varane together could compensate for each other’s weaknesses

  2. To short – given was a midget in goal for the toon once city got oil rich they signed the little irish spring .

So to say a defemder is to small is bit nieve , gary's squeeky double act jamie he isn't tall but he was a solid centre back

Not a fan of a premier league team anymore however there is more football in the football league as not every pl club are in europe although for hlw many teams are being added in europe be top 10 soon enough superleague part 2 lol

  3. Man U should’ve bought Edson Alvarez considering all you said about Lisandro sounds like you would’ve preferred Martinez partner in Amsterdam

  4. Lisandro Martnez upfront fee = 46 mil (could rise to 52).. Euro FD: "Cost United 52 mil". Dawin Nunez upfront fee = 68 mil (could rise 85 mil)… Euro FD: "Cost Liverpool 68 mil. What's with the agenda?

  5. Henry that discussion on lisandro was utter shit. You otherwise make good points on with most things you say. But like pato said one of these days. You are trying to make both the points at once.
Do not justify your point that he will have difficulties by saying he shut down haaland and got his xg lesser albeit only slightly to what it is usually. Because all that does is clearly state that Lisandro is as good if not better than other defenders at keeping strikers quiet. Which is exactly the opposite of the case you are trying to make when saying he will have difficulties as compared to other taller centre backs. If he can shut down haaland as well as others, well then he is defensively adept.

  6. i can just see united and arsenal fans losing their minds when they finish outside the top 4 this season. Arsenal fan tv will be a laugh

  7. Barcelona has shown how to play with short centre backs. Puyol and Mascherano. But they play a high line and dominate possession. De Gea is not a sweeper and United's other centre backs have no pace so this will be a abject failure for their defense

  8. "A unique talent that could not be replicated by any cheaper player"

Remember Pogba, Maguire, Martial, Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Matic, Mata, Sanchez and many more?
Manchester United, a club known for making great deals.

  9. This channel loves hating on “English Media” and overstating how “physical” the premier league is lol yet their best players all come from different leagues and get rocked by 5’7” players in the champions league

  10. Xg and all the stats r useless if u NVR see the matches, how many player with gd stats have flop last season

  11. 😂😂 2:06 where does euro football daily get their stats from? He won 69%, not 55% he also won 64% in the champions league. I get video ideas are hard to come by but this is laughable

  12. Weird how many grown men are obsessing over Lisandro's height, yet Kounde being only 1 inch taller got a free pass. Appreciate that you don't hide the agendas

  13. To be fair Martinez signing for united i think is a good one. I know he's short but he's speed and passing is way to good. He's a really good player and to come in a new league with your coach from last season ain't gonna stop him either. City looks more dangerous then ever. A KDB in form. The could be running home this league. And west hams signing is like a glove for Moyes. Good defender and will fit Moyes system

  14. Don't get the inclusion of City here at all. Haaland alone is considered to be, along with Mbappe, the best young striker in the world. He cost 60 mil aka one Naby Keita. By this logic Nunez is an even greater risk as he was more expensive, older and less prolific.

  15. People are forgetting that there's only a handful of tall forwards in the Prem and even in the champions league he's proven himself

  16. Knock it off with trying to sound Spanish when saying Martinez and WTF has the amount City paid for Sterling 7 years ago got to do with the price of beans?

  17. I hate this Martinez is too small. Puyol was the same height, no one said he wasn’t good because he was too small. His heart was bigger and so far looks like that chip on the shoulder is only going to push Martinez to be better.

  18. He can’t get away with his tackles in the premiership. There’s more risk of red card in premiership than any where in the world.

  19. If it were for the people that consider height an important factor in a footballer, Messi, Maradona or Pele would´ve never played (probably the 3 GOATs). And regarding CB, Baresi, Cannavaro, Puyol, Passarella and many others were also short. It doesn´t matter your height, as long as you are good, that's the only important thing

  20. taiwo awoniyi? Has only had 1 good season and Nottingham paid a club record fee for him! I can tell you now that he’s going to be playing in turkey next season!
