  1. Tuchel for parts of the 1st also was clever enough to implement a zonal pressing where his forwards would not take the bait of Pep taking advantage a midfield extra man, they were happy to let the back 3 pass the ball to themselves while not going forward, technically it was not terrible at all from Tuchel, but City have so much fire power in every position. The weakness of City has been mentality not capability, I hope Halaand is that difference.

  2. I have said it before and i will say it again, alvarez is the long term replacement for kdb. You cannot sit there and watch him make those crosses, passes and corners and not think to yourself what a fine replacement he will be for kdb.

  3. It only proved once again, that Bayern relies too much on speed and strength. Not only Guardiola had the better tactics, City players are physically stronger than Bayern's. Well sorry Bayern, this wasn't Barcelona you were playing, weak and technical. I enjoyed watching that arrogant being named Musiala getting destroyed by Grealish

  4. Nagelsmann had a 100% record in the CL. Won twice against Inter, Barcelona and PSG with an aggregate score of 13-0. And they still decided to sack him…

Well, this is what you get. What a stupid decision. 🤦‍♂️

  5. But when Bayern do this for decades nobody talks about it. At least not the casuals. All of a sudden people want to make videos on it because it’s an English club 🤣

  6. Muller being subbed on and having only 10 mins of playtime was criminal. City were great with their positioning, spatial awareness and switches/passes and someone like Muller on the pitch would have a considerable impact to coach Bayern on the pitch. Nothing to take from City here, they played like a team and their tactics were on point and they were efficient when in possession.
Kudos to city and hope Bayern bounces back in the second leg.

  7. Im no tactical expert but Tuchel should have continued to play a back 3, Goretzka+Kimmich+traditional Bayern up the field pressing can be exploited easily by teams with a midfield as good as City's. Mane adds absolutely nothing to the team, they need to ship him and Gnabry off at the earliest and invest in Osimhen and a proper #6.

  8. Bayern where the better team but lost to individuell Errors and a lucky Goal from Rodri. Pep where outcoached. To have more Possession in the Etihad. Should tell you everything.
After second Goal Bayern fall apart.
But I don't see that Pep where anywhere better or City.
People are just blinded by the 3 Goals.

  9. It was a weird game to watch in that neither the scoreline or the xG really reflected the balance of play. Bayern opened up City and created a lot of dangerous situations, but they simply didn't result in good % shots because the city defenders turned in incredible individual performances, they were seemingly unbeatable 1v1, Ake especially.

  10. Now there's no need to be a tactical genius in the 2nd leg cause this overthinking by pep in 2nd legs is the reason we haven't won the champions League yet… You're a genius we just saw it in the 1st leg, now let's go back to the basics in the second leg, lets sit back, absorb the pressure and hit them on the break.

#Alvarez should definitely start the second leg

  12. Some takeaways from a Bayern fan: Nervous sloppiness, the lack of a No. 9 and Müller not starting were our downfalls. Tuchel reacted too late with his substitutions. Musiala, Gnabry, Mané and Davies are out of form (Upamecano was out of form as well, but his last games were great). Kimmich and Goretzka don't work as double pivot against strong opponents. Sommer was huge but we needed him to be tall at the first goal… Sané is inform again but lacked a competent playing partner (I thought that Gnabry started the game pretty solid but lost his momentum rather quick). The game was decided mostly on individual levels and City was superior in almost every aspect, which sadly didn't even need to be outstanding. GG

Edit: And f*** Nathan Aké and his brilliant ability to always magically appear in the way of our shots and offensive passes

  13. Grealish reads the game so we'll especially in defense. You could see how he always looks and tries to block where a pass will go to. And do we need to say much more about Stones!!!! He was prolific 🔥🔥. And stones said it best in his interview " he (Pep) won't play you in a position he knows you can't handle".

  14. Bayern had the game in control, but Upamecano's horrendous game, Musiala's lackluster defending and Kimmich's situational lapse in defencive awareness caused the goals. And well Gnabry was not seen in the game at all.

  15. Bayern were nowhere to be seen in the final 3rd. That's what had cost them this game and should have been pointed out here. Once they got there they literally had no play in and around oppos box

  16. No one really mentions Rodri, but Stones and the defenders. Rodri is a beast CDM, arguably best in the world right now – his awareness, reading of the game to break up play, receiving the ball and turning and last but not least his passing is amazing.
Also Gundogan is even less mentioned, but man he is the glue to this team along with Rodri
