  1. I can’t say I’ve seen any of frimpong but unless he’s kicked on a lot from his Celtic days, I don’t think he’ll be good enough.

  2. Frimpong/Dumfries, , Kane or Osimhen , Onana( if Everton drop), Maddison ( If Leicester drop) or as everyone says Mount, De Jong Or second choices Brandt or Anguissa..Kim Min Jae or Pau Torres for CB..

  3. Players doing brilliant in the German league are hit and miss, Some have worked others have been exposed in the Prem with the better quality and higher intensity, But no risk no reward..

  4. Not convinced from what I’ve seen from Frimpong, I would love you to do a scout report on Sagawara at AZ, looks a quality right back and also Milan Van Ewijk at Herenveen, I’m sure ETH is aware of them

  5. Malcolm Gladwell talks about the weakest link thing in football. With basketball it's sort of opposite and you need one outstanding player, whereas in football you tend to be as good as your weakest link. Our weakest link is obviously the striker, then maybe the goalkeeper, midfield back-ups. Right back is one of those where I think we're okay and have to be careful not to get a player who is only slightly better but might struggle in our league, at least at first. I think AWB could be a Champions League winning right back to be honest so keep him. Looks like Frimpong could do a job on the right wing too but at right back I think it will be a white knuckle ride, a bit like Dalot. Will his goals at one end make up for the conceded ones at the other. On balance, given how he might struggle if he changes leagues, I don't think he's a huge improvement on Dalot and you'd be mad to swap him for AWB who is pretty elite in terms of defence.

  6. Jonathan Tah from Leverkusen would be a great understudy. Wouldn't cost the earth, would work hard, fit the system & is realistic. Not sure of his performances from a percentile point of view but could be a cheeky piece of business to free up funds for other key areas

  7. Frimpong is excellent going forward,…for a right back, but If we buy him were going to get exposed at the back, especially for height at the back post…in which case we may as well keep Wan Bissaka and work on his positioning and the productivity of our Right Wingers.

    IF we are buying Frimpong (and it was up to me) I'd put him directly up against Anthony, keep Dalot, sell Wan Bissaka and either buy Dumfries or promote Ethan Laird to the senior squad.

    Personally I think buying Anthony as a first team starter was a big mistake, especially at £85m. I get the argument that Anthony is young, adapting to a harder, far more demanding League and is slightly built…all of that would be ok if you'd only paid the £35m that he was originally valued at and could let him acclimatise, put on some muscle and ease him in like an Academy player, but given his fee and wages that can't and won't happen. This is down to Ten Hag's naivety and inexperience regarding the scale of the step up to the Premier League from the Eredivisie, it's also down to the absence of a genuine, experienced and elite DoF at the club who has a longer term remit and overall responsibility to protect the integrity of the squad I believe in Ten Hag but United shouldn't be relying on (or overindulging) a new, inexperienced manager (in Premier League terms) to bring in young, inexperienced and unproven players from a comparatively lightweight League into the toughest league in Europe. They should have a CLUB philosophy of Football, like Bayern, that remains intact no matter what and determines the kind of managers they enlist. That way, you'd think, the club could make the scouting process easier with more targeted and tailored player acquisitions and not suffer the same level of player churn or financial losses on player sales.

    Imho Anthony HAS to repay the trust and patience that Ten Hag has shown in him next season or be replaced, the same goes for Sancho. Yes, the money invested in both players is huge, and we'd take a massive hit on both of them, but we can't carry passengers if we want to be genuine title challengers and, as much as I rated Sancho in the Bundesliga, his performances haven't been worth even £100k a week for United in the Premier League so far, let alone £375k.

    Signing Frimpong probably pushes Dalot out of the door which I would be against;
    It's a bit premature to claim he can drop in right now and play in several different positions but he's young, rapid, a bit of a unit and has footballing intelligence that players his age (and older) often lack ( Im seriously getting John O' Shea vibes with him. With the proper coaching and development he could be one of our most important and versatile members of the squad..I think we'd be making a mistake to let him go and buying Frimpong would probably nudge him out the door; the kid has a lot going for him and speaks four languages, he has several continental clubs interested in him, including Real Madrid….I hope we keep him.

  8. Our back-up CB for Varane must be of good quality, a ball-playing defender with pace (for high line) and aerial ability (for next to Licha). You won't find them cheap.
