Press conference with Manchester United Erik ten Hag manager ahead of their Premier League game against Brentford.

Christian Eriksen looks set to make an early comeback from an ankle injury after Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag revealed the midfielder is back in team training from Tuesday.

The 31-year-old has established himself as a key player since moving to Old Trafford in the summer on a free transfer following a successful short-term stint at Wednesday’s opponents Brentford.

Eriksen made 31 appearances and was a near ever-present before being sidelined by a poor challenge by Andy Carroll in January’s FA Cup fourth-round tie against Reading.

United expected to be without the Denmark international until late April or early May, leading them to make a deadline-day loan move for Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer.

But Eriksen has made impressive progress and is shaping up to return to action ahead of schedule.

  1. Bruno fernandez would be good if he didn't become captain like he did in his early season at MUtd. Should Casemiro or De Gea be more appropriate to be captain..this is what Ten Hag has not done.

  2. Presently,Dalot is not offering anything meaningful in attack. You would notice Antony's reluctance to track back on Sunday cos he felt he had the only chance going forward from that flank.

  3. Sabitzar and McTominay should not start in that midfield tomorrow, no matter what it is, both of them have nothing to offer United tactically nor in personal quality, both of them are just not Man United quality, last time you ask McTominay to man mark Guimarães, it would have been better you use Fred for such role.

  4. Shaw will sit on his arse now again for 3 years, Shaw is average at best. Rewarding failure….thought we would be past this.

  5. To all you ManU fans, don't forget where ManU came from at the start of the season. It's easy to blame the manager now for some poor results as some of you do now, but nobody expected a PL championship this season. Right? It's a work in progress and given time, ManU will be on top again……..

  6. That graham potter question is absolutely ludicrous ten hag has completely uplifted the mentality and way of play with this team, results can wait regardless of the fact we have won a trophy and still have the chance at 2 more and champions league football

  7. We've missed Eriksen massively because without Casemiro Bruno is essentially helpless and basically trying to control the entire midfield. McTominay is essentially useless to count on and we can't really fault Sabitzer because he's still not "raised" in our system yet so therefore he can be provided leeway for either playing good or not playing good enough. Scotty has been in the United system since a child and has had all season to play ETH way and still he's so luke warm or cold. You can't really blame Bruno because he's doing his best to play CM and CAM while praying to God that McTominay is worth a crap at CDM which we all know he's not.

If we do buy Sabitzer for cheap (around 💷10-12m) we still need massive improvements. Fred might improve with ETH but I don't see Scotty being here this upcoming summer unless he's just used as a sub to provide rest for important midfielders. We need very good midfield and strikers badly, especially to help Bruno with the playmaking and to help Casemiro whenever he needs a rest.

  8. Some of the comments here shows how plastic some of the United fans are and their lack of understanding of football in general! After one defeat, you want to ge ETH sacked, sell, Antony, Sabitzer and all the players he bought. It’s been a bit more than 6 months and he already overachieved with this squad. We need to get CL for sure and I am sure we will get there eventually. You lot need to patient and get behind the team. Antony is young, Sabitzer just came in and it will take time for him to settle. All his other signings were brilliant and Weghorst is doing his job that he has been asked to do. Casemiro and Eriksen are vital players for us and without them our MF looks weak. We lack squad depth and proper goal; scorers which is pretty clear to see. Be patient, trust the process! ETH is the right man for the job and I won’t have anyone else other than him

  9. Eriksen has been a huge miss I said it when he got injured if he didn't get injured he had a shout for the player of the season along with rash and Martinez…….full effort tomorrow boys playing a very good team and if we don't get stuck in we'll get turned over..watch Toney ffs he's a beast

  10. The club is undergoing transformation and it takes time, I think the few success we had this season has quickly raised our hopes so high again. I never even expected us to be here so fast. Its a process and I love what ten hag is doing. But the complaints are right, the players are not vibrant, i feel 75% of all our matches we played bad but get lucky to win at times. I watch other club matches and I see how vibrant they are, their pace, their quick passes, their hold of ball and play of ball, sometimes they don't just get to score. We are not vibrant yet, we don't hold the ball, we don't play the ball, we only have quick transitions from behind.

  11. He’s so right guys, don’t have our 2 best midfield players we still have to win,2 more seasons and buying the right players,I feel comfortable with him in charge, imagine if we actually do sell the club to owners that love the club and not drain it
