Weg is the worst striker I've ever seen. He would be a bad fit even in the swedish Allsvenskan, which is in fact a terrible farmer league I follow.
People actually tried to justify the Weghorst signing. Not sure if that sums up the lack of actually knowledgable football related content producers or the drop in United standards from what they once were
Those stats are ludicrous. You’re comparing ETH start to the season where he’s had barely any input into the team on how he wants to play, no Casemiro; martinez, erikson and Antony had no pre season with him. The team got battered in the first 2 games with ronaldo having 0 influence of that while maguire and mctominay started. To a half season of the team fully trained and implemented in how ETH wants to play, momentum because of this and dropping in weghorst. There is 0 comparison. The Ronaldo agenda even with his ex team mates (Gary obviously still isn’t happy ronaldo blanked him and no wonder when he produces this from his mouth) is clear.
Ronaldo's fixtures from that slide were tougher and he was in a worse side, and still scored far more goals. Such lazy punditry

Man United were horrendous last year , has nothing to do with Ronaldo he was great goal scoring not his fault the defence kept conceding, the team is much more of a squad this year getting results, doesn’t mean weghurst is better he’s a championship striker🤦♂️ if ronaldo was in this squad joining when Weghurst joined Ronaldo would be on around 15 goals

They are complete opposite types of strikers that bring a different type of football. Weghorst is a target man that brings other players into play where as Ronaldo is a lot more talented so he can do it by himself, unfortunately ronaldo is now old so he can’t do it all by himself anymore. Ronaldo wasn't willing to do what Weghorst will. Nobody thinks Weghorst is better but he helps the team out of possession far more. The sum of the parts is more important than the individuals
