Raphaël Guerreiro’s contract expires this summer. Could the Portuguese international be headed for St James’ Park? He would certainly be an upgrade on the left-backs already at the club.

The age is an issue, as feel we are looking to build for the future, we bought players like Trippier, Wood and Burn over 30s as a stop gap to ensure we didn't get relegated. We will be looking at buying younger players like Mitchell Bakker, or like with Harrison Ashby someone very young who can learn from the experienced players.
Also the issue with free transfers is signing on fees are usually high to compensate, and the wages are also tricky considering as of yet we haven't gone above i believe £120k top quality free transfers will be asking for stupid money.
Got to have some mature players to lead the bairns and defence is fine with an older player, we've got pace up front.
I agree with Rich, Guerreiro age is a issue, but do with need another left back ?
29-33 as a defender you’re at your peak both physically and mentally more importantly
