Excellent player was so excited when he joined Liverpool and he was the only reason I watched Swansea play. His technique, vision, passing is top notch just needs to make those runs in to the box more often cant wait till he comes back injury free and play like he did at the start of the season.
He was playing Defensive Mid and restricted from going up plus the team were playing awful he couldnt risk going up and letting the opposition score you doughnut.

i like him a lo,i rate him highly for the future.he's gotta find consistence because at the start of the season he was on unbelievably great form.i have high hopes for him,he's player who can pass the ball very nicely and combine that with Coutinho's pass and move and Gerrard's leadership and you have a strong midfield.we have to sort our defence and a new right winger would be a great addition too.YNWA
I think Allen suffers from having the kind of style that for many people, just doesn't compute! It's the ingrained attitude, that we have to get from A to Z, in as few as moves as possible. That style and attitude has seen Britain produce very few players equipped to flourish in the World of International football. It's a pity that too many people fail to notice!
Why do you always want players to play the ball forward ha ha ha ha! Clueless, the system that joe came from is keep the ball, make the opposition chase then eventually this will tire/frustrate the opposition into making mistakes. If you can't see that then you are clueless about modern football
he is not a box to box midfielder.. but what he does have is a decent vision.. and extremely good short pass skills, suits Rodgers style of play just perfectly, he has some goals in his locker. if he can get more settled in the team iam pretty sure that he can be a great defensive midfielder.

i was referring to your first statement about him only being able to pass. And you know what, being able to pass is actually something not every player can do especially at Allen's level. It is similar to what Carrick does for utd. He does not offer much going forward but he keeps the game flowing for utd. Also, Allen is a decent tackler and is not too bad at interceptions as well. He covered for Lucas extremely well at the start of the season.

He is a very good player. The same thing happened to Lucas in that deep role, it can be an unforgiving position because as a DM you're constantly in the middle of the action and experience is essential. I've seen Phil Jones of United play there and he was poor. Henderson has played better, though he still isn't the finished article, and Borini has to get his loan right or he won't come back.
