Kasper has misunderstood the song (as many England fans seem to be doing). It's "football's coming home" not "the trophy is coming home". The 96 version was about a huge international football tournament, Euro 96, coming to the home or birthplace of football. It was also about not giving up hope in the face of repeated disapointment. It doesn't really matter what other nations think of the song. Its a song written by 3 England fans for England fans. If football began in Denmark you can be sure their fans would be singing about it.
