Phil Foden was replaced by Kieran Trippier, with the England midfielder having only been on the pitch for 12 minutes as a second half substitute.

Shaw’s sending-off has ruled him out of Sunday’s qualifier against Ukraine at Wembley.

Manager Gareth Southgate had to quickly reshuffle the pack following Shaw’s dismissal.
