#CanMNT #GoldCup #Concacaf
The road to the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup begins this week on OneSoccer, as the Canadian men’s national team returns to action for the first time since the 2022 FIFA World Cup, taking on Curacao (March 25) and Honduras (March 28 at BMO Field in Toronto) to round out their 2022 Concacaf Nations League campaign – the path to qualifying for the region’s top tournament.
Should Canada take four points out of those two games, they’ll book their spot at the 2023 Gold Cup this summer, and for former CanMNT veteran Jim Brennan, that summer dance isn’t just another competitive environment for the team to enjoy – it’s a chance to truly stamp their place in the Concacaf pecking order with silverware.
We’re joined by the Footy Prime pundit and Jordan Wilson’s former coach at York United to preview these two upcoming match-ups, take a look through the Canada squad and its hopefuls on the fringe, and look ahead to this summer’s Gold Cup affair on OneNation.

i see heir apparent vitoria defense herbert
Isn't Tajon injured?
Personally, I am not hung up on winning trophies for this team. I want them to continue to improve their midfield and defense. Atiba and Vitoria need to retire, it is time to bed in some of the young players.
In this coming window , I want to see how much Koné has improved since his move to Watford.
It also can't be discounted that the U-17 Squad qualified for Peru 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup. This will give players a chance to really build into getting some major tournament experience leading up to the road to 2026 when a lot of these boys will be in their late teens and early 20s and might be at a level to be called up to the senior national team for the 2026 World Cup, possibly getting there within the next 3 years.
I’ve been a Gold Cup fan for about 30 years ! This Canadian team would destroy the States easy ! The States are pretty bad right now !
I don't think Kone has proven himself yet to be on the team yet alone a starter in the midfield. But if he really does step up then wow we will be a great position for 2026… Canada should be a semi-finalist in the Gold Cup and a Quarter-finalist in the Copa America, and they should be a finalist in at least one Nations League. That will set them up well for 2026…
im looking forward to the likes of Deandre Kerr, Ryan Raposo, developing
We need some depth at the CB position
