Simple answer: yes. It’s not just his fault though – the coaching in England is shite let’s be honest. How often do we see route one football? We need a dramatic shift in coaching. I’ve never seen a world class English manager for any club in the world. The FA need to start from scratch and sort out the coaching in this country. It’s grassroots up – always long ball football, go to a local match and you’ll see the same styles of play. Until that problem is addressed we’ll always be slagging off the manager for England whoever it may be
From the start to now, I have never rated Southgate, the guy is a pillock, he is too much of a wet blanket to be the manager, we need a man, not a woke boy….
Hopefully it’s all part of the master plan to get Southgate out of England by the sacking of Patrik at palace 🙏🏻

The England squad needs freshening up. Players should have to earn their place in it. Some of those selected have hardly played or haven't performed for their club sides. Southgate hasn't got the tactical nous or the adventure to change/affect a game. The English talent that there is, especially the attacking talent, is being overlooked or wasted. England will never win anything with Southgate in charge. He's tactically inept, too safe and predictable.

I want Southgate to succeed only because I don't want howe going to England. But in my honest opinion he is quite poor. England should be doing alot better with the players available to him.
If Toney is banned he'll never play for England again. So in my opinion the only reason Southgate may play him now is to try and prevent him playing for Jamaica.

There seems to be a growing penchant towards mediocrity in this country, like the very air is rife with it and the media facilitate it. It's always been there with the tennis, now with the rugby and the media are comfortable with it. All the media care about or those they now employ to masquerade as journalists is that the England set up pander to all the sociopolitical landscape and whatever half-arsed dictat is ongoing or current that week and the football is a side issue. Southgate embodies all that, I mean it's so obvious they are going to be semi-comatose on Thursday and stink Italy out again with a lifeless performance, lose 1 or 2-0 and he'll have that chastised schoolboy hangdog look on his face afterwards after Kane yet again huffs and puffs against quality defenders for 88 mins and Toney gets brought on in the 86th minute.
