  1. To be fair, regarding convincing dual nationals, Stefan Mitrović and Daniel Jebbison should be of higher priority right now.

  2. I wish One Soccer would stop suggesting this. I wonder what Herdman thinks when a channel like One Soccer keeps talking about this. We're extremely lucky to have him.

  3. Well considering Flores probably cheered for Mexico his whole life I’m sure it wasn’t a tough decision at all for him since he can crack that squad. Jebbison on the other hand is in dreamland if he thinks he’ll ever crack the English squad. Otherwise I foresee him committing to Canada before the World Cup.

  4. Two conversations speculating about potential coaching changes in as many weeks??

REALLY???? Are you that hard up for things to talk about??

Can we not wait until after the World Cup before talking about this? Let's focus on the actual situation regarding the WC rather than speculating about a possible coaching change that IS NOT going to happen before the WC?

  5. I love Herdman and I wonder if he is ok with discussions like this because it creates a paper trail of chatter about his future online that he can use when negotiating for a position after the world Cup.

The Men in Blazers talk about the ways that agents push for the media to create "buzz" around their clients. I have a hunch that this type of content has an agent connection to generate interest and options

  6. We Mexican like to see all of players get the some opportunity as the home grown. Greg USA manager was not calling any Mexican American to the usmnt till he saw Mexico opening the doors to everyone who wants to play for Mexico. I don’t see any wrong doing there.

  7. Herdman is crucial as he has MOLDED A TEAM that "plays for each other". He should definitely COACH in this WORLD CUP and IDEALLY in the NEXT ONE too! I knew Tony Waiters and in the mid-80s he'd remind them that guys like PLATINI put their pants on one leg at a time too! Let him take over at Manchester United after these 2 World Cups! 😉

  8. How much does anyone want to bet that the CSA – or at least those who make decisions funding it – are so full of their woke BS that they will starve the CanMNT of the needed funding just so they can virtue signal about spending 50% on the women's program. That may sound fair on the surface but let's face it, to advance the national men's cause will cost an order of magnitude more than the women's, and soyboy Trudeau and all his flunkies won't have it. Canada could be playing some high profile teams next month in friendlies but it is not happening because they won't pony up some money. I have zero info on this topic, but I would bet the house that such is the current situation. Herdman is just being told to live with what he is being given.

  9. I really want to see Jebbison play for Canada he is silly to think he has any chance of breaking into the England squad. I don’t know how he could reject the current project in the Canadian team🤷‍♂️

  10. After all Herdman has done for the sport in this country I don’t think it is fair to talk about him leaving. He would be disappointed to see this

  11. The ole good cop, bad cop routine going on here. Wheels playing the part of bad cop and dishing out truth, and Platt and Patrillo playing good cop and dishing out truth. Only time will tell.

I don't think Herdman wants to leave either.

There's other things to take into account. His family is settled in the Vancouver area. He has kids and removing them out of school and having to move to a different country from which they've spent the majority of their time growing up in would be a big blow to their entire ecosystem. He and his family have roots firmly entrenched here. He's spent over ten years in Canada and admits its part of him now and that he's just as Canadian as he is English. I also think that because he wields so much control over the program in Canada – from youth development to being manager – that it's a role he relishes. He's also said he's ready to manage club sides because it's a whole different world.

Do I think he'll manage a club side in the future? Absolutely. However, I'm not so sure England is on the cards and that money is entirely his motivating factor. I would see him being a good manager in the MLS – and that would keep him closer to his roots of player development and building, while allowing him to continue to use Vancouver as his base.

What the CSA needs to do going forward is to make sure that they lock in that contract going forward. Give him the tools he needs to continue to succeed and I don't think he'll go anywhere fast. Keep him 'fat' and happy. Unfortunately the CSA doesn't have a good track record with any of these things with the men, but they seem to have gotten it right on the women's side of the game so there's hope they can continue to bring that success on the men's side of the game.
