      I remember when Southgate got the job and he spouted off on picking players on form and not reputation. And he's litterally done the exact opposite ever since.

      😂😂please stop talking about Trent , he is a defender and you want to specify just find a space for a defender who can’t defend properly to fit in to team ? There are lots of attackers in this England team

      I thought there was bust up between the assistant manager and White. It is alleged White has an attitude problem due to him being ill as a child .

      Tony he's picked him again he never used him, well if Yee get penalty don't let Kean take them, Trent can defend for get never going to win competitions, was Matthew letissea ever picked for England

      Trent had that sensational spell for Liverpool, but he always looked really shaky for England. I don't think Southgate fancies him over the other options and the fact he's been a weak link for Liverpool for the last 8-10 months gave him no chance really.

      To answer Andy's question, the reason he won't pick certain players until they play for a bigger club is media pressure. An example is Grealish. Southgate wouldn't touch him with a bargepole at Villa. The second Pep signed him he was forced to play him as everybody trusts Pep's opinion over Southgate's. Rightly too. Southgate is just a very weak minded manager.

      Gareth might as well just pick the 16 players that he will actually use. The others might as well stay at home, they're not getting on the pitch. Doesn't matter to Southgate how well players are performing, they are not in his little club. We will do well to qualify out of the group. If we do knocked out in qtr finals, because that's where we are with this manager. Who else wants this poisoned chalice?

      The problem is that Southgate is an over promoted out of his depth League 2 quality manager who has no clue how to manage top PL players. One of the worst managers I've ever seen.

      we all know ben white got sent home from the world cup early because he had a row with the england assistant – something about him not doing the required prep work for the session or something.

      if that is the case only ben White is at fault – if he cant do his job – he doesn't get picked simple. Benty doesnt like it because he is an arsenal fan – as a Utd fan why has aaron wan -bissaka never had an england call up?? – has to be the best defending full back in the league and has been exceptional since the world cup for utd.

      We all know that southgate has his favourites – Philips, Mount, Gallagher – these guys always get in despite being in poor form or in the case of philips being completely misssing.

      Southgate being given the reins of the 2nd best generation of England talent will be the downfall of the national team. A quarter of those players shouldn’t have been called up.
