Hello and welcome back to EFD shorts where today we are looking at Eden Hazard’s failed transfer to Real Madrid and ask; is this the worst transfer in history?

Having been signed on a 5 year deal worth a reported £400,000 per week, not to mention his £100m fee, Eden Hazard has struggled to stay fit, let alone contribute to Carlo Ancelotti’s Los Blancos side.

Fewer than 75 appearances and 10 goals in all competitions paints a very grim picture!

  1. I watched him in his first preseason match for Chelsea in the USA. I had never seen anything like him. He was effectively an unknown squad player that Mourinho gave a quick runout. It wasn't just that Hazard was good (obv), it was the manner in which his body moved. He just seemed to float past people effortlessly. It wasn't "dynamic" in the traditional sense, like a crazy Messi close-control dribble for example. He would just glide past world class defenders and make them look like lost children. Such a special player. A real shame he never had an ounce of work ethic or respect for his body/his career.
