  1. How can your league be the best if your players aren’t the best? Get the U21 english players to ply their trade overseas, and return as better players, and not wait spoon in hand for food by the FA..

  2. The fa hate the Premier league because the Premier league has loads of success and fa England national never had success winning the world Cup because the FA don't have ambition and always wanted a yes man as England manager for example Gareth wokegate Southgate

  3. It’s basically a power game by the FA against the Premier League. They are just worried about them losing control over English football because PL is getting more and more dominant these days

  4. Meanwhile, the England National team has had its best run of results in my lifetime and I'm 56. You don't get the best England team by choosing from a large pool of mediocre England qualified players – we had that in the 80s when we were rubbish and regularly didn't even qualify for tournaments. The clubs want English players which is why they always pay a premium for them but they have to be top quality. The FA is just trying to be relevant.

  5. The money of the Prem is a double edged sword at times because teams don't have to spend the time and effort developing a player when they can just buy a conveyer belt of more established players. Smaller teams in La Liga are almost forced to develop their own talent and give good players a chance as soon as possible. Some Premier League teams have good academies but never give the youngsters first team experience so when they play against Spain in the under 23s and 21s it's like men against boys.

  6. No games in PL are easy, unlike some other leagues. You have to put out your strongest team every time. Basically, you can't afford training time with youngsters.

  7. England have reached a semi final, a final and a quarter final in our last 3 tournaments

Foreign talent playing in the Premier League up the game of home grown talent. The FA are out of touch and archaic

  8. Aside from the ridiculous banding (Brazil and Argentina in band C), I fail to see the problem.

The FA is for once doing its job. Looking after English football.

  9. Oh this stupidity from the FA never works, we see this backwards rules in Russia. and Turkey and their players arent getting better

  10. Look at what happened to the Mexico national team because of similar circumstances. The league prioritized player imports and 10 years laters they ruined the national team

  11. #1 The EFL Championship is potentially in the top 10 strongest leagues in the world yet the FA are completely dismissive of it. Players will find their level.
#2 If the FA raises the bar for overseas players, wouldn't that decrease the number of overseas squad-players and therefore increase the number of English squad players ?

  12. Money is running our game ! People are watching money corporations compete now ! Go back to banking football is a sport for entertainment of the people who work hard to watch their teams at the end of the week ! Fans are not globetrotters , players are not money making robots it's getting insane !

  13. For all the ill-informed making comments on the Greed is Good League (Premiere League) English football has always been popular in many parts of the world.

Yes, the Premier League has exploited this wonderfully well. Nevertheless, English football was already popular.

Did you also know football did exist pre 1992. It was just as good, as it is now.

In fact, I would say it was better. Derby County and Nottingham Forest winning the league. QPR and Ipswich Town almost winning the league.

  14. Putting France there just to distort the overall picture, it is ridiculous. It is not a "big" league by any measure except the size of the population. Once you take that into account Spain is the only one that stands out, England slightly behind Italy. Italy too facing such issues & Mancini has been complaining a lot about the lack of eligible players he can call upon. A decade ago I could easily cite most of the players Italy could call upon for the UEFA Under-21 Championship, this year I can barely think of anybody other than Fagioli, Miretti and Rovella.

  15. I don’t get it it’s not england’s doing bad euro final wc quarter but they played france maybe if they got a better manager who didn’t play favorites it would be different

  16. The FA have always been jealous of the Premier League's riches and success. The FA have been incompetent for decades: from knocking down the cathedral of football (Wembley), blowing £800m on a soulless replacement, hiring endless yes men England managers, killing off the magic of the FA Cup and now they want to wreck the Premier League. Pathetic.

  17. Premier league teams just go and buy those young players from other leagues when they've proved they are or could be good enough, many don't make it if start in the prem because they get paid more in the reserves than starting in other leagues, they think they've made it and don't handle the huge wages at a young age n fall off!

  18. Cap premier league spending. Cap how many players can be sent out on loan. Increase the amount of UK nationals per squad. Problem solved.

The premier league is becoming unsustainable. I guarantee at least 15 of the current premier league clubs are massively flaunting FFP rules and would be sanctioned if they were investigated properly. Selling naming rights, dodgy sponsors, paying players in bonuses through umbrella companies, deferring transfers over 8 years. Ridiculous.

  19. If the FA get their way they will destroy the Premier League. The best players in it are foreigners. If it's a lack of trophies for England that's the problem, hire a manager with a clue. As I'm Scottish, I hope Southgate stays on for the next few decades.

  20. People won't like this but I'm on the Premier league's side here. The FA and intentional football is dead and boring and only hires men who are useless and yes men.

  21. The reason why the English players are crap is simple, unlike Portugal, South America, Spain, Italy etc countries, the English players technical ability is garbage to these countries in comparison, most of the young players have everything handed to them on a platter i.e. they don't work hard enough due to the British lifestyle whereas in South America, Portugal, Italy etc, the kids have to fight tooth and nail in order to succeed and before people say give the young talent a chance, well, England hasn't won anything since the fluky win of 1966 and the last great team in the 90's had Gascoigne, a type of player England has lacked for decades

  22. “The FA would argue that they are the custodians of the game”. They want to dictate what teams do yet aren’t even competent when it comes to appointing the right manager for the national team.

  23. You have the biggest most watched league in the world and you want to spoil it with limiting intake of best players silly. You want to compare yourselves with shitty leagues. Bonkers.
