Jose Riveiro finally speaks up about Lepasa.

Amazulu and Orlando Pirates have reached an agreement.

Royal Am hires John Maduka once again.

Swallows announced the signing of Bongani Sam from Orlando Pirates on a busy deadline day, with the deal being confirmed as a loan agreement despite some initial misunderstanding.

In other news, Pirates stated on Tuesday that the club had struck an agreement with SuperSport United for Zakhele Lepasa’s services, who will join SuperSport United on loan for the rest of the season.

Lepasa has mostly had to make do with a bench role for Pirates this season, and coach Jose Riveiro has now explained why the club was glad to let the 26-year-old go elsewhere.

“I wish Zakhele all the best because he is a fantastic guy and a very excellent football player,” Riveiro was quoted as saying. “Like I stated before, this is a very competitive environment with 36 players in the team and there is no possibility to promise any minutes to anyone. I understand all the players who believe they need to play more and want to find those opportunities elsewhere.

“It is something I will have to appreciate and accept and maybe he will demonstrate the player that he is at SuperSport United. It’s a common occurrence in sports, especially with a large and talented squad like ours.”

During the January transfer window, Pirates confirmed the signing of highly regarded Cameroonian attacker Souaibou Marou, and it was always going to be interesting to see what else the Buccaneers did.

Another significant development is that AmaZulu captain has signed personal terms on a pre-contract with Pirates and will join them immediately. With no clear indications from AmaZulu in terms of discussing a revised contract, it was reported that Pirates jumped in to capture the rather unexpected acquisition of the 33-year-old midfielder.

PIRATES SHARED THE FOLLOWING DEAL STATEMENT
“The club would like to thank AmaZulu management for the professional manner in which the transfer was handled. amazulu, under the direction and supervision of Chairman, was transparent and cooperative throughout the negotiations, allowing both clubs to move quickly and smoothly. We’d like to commend the board on their behavior and wish them the best for the rest of the season.”

The AmaZulu club president praised the seasoned midfielder’s professionalism since joining amazulu two and a half years ago in a statement.

“our captain departs with our best wishes. He has served the club extremely well as captain and was the recipient of the President’s and the player’s player of the year awards two seasons ago with merit,” .

Only a few months after accepting his resignation letter, Royal AM has rehired John Maduka as their head coach.

Maduka left Royal AM at the end of the previous season after leading them to third place in the DStv Premiership.

Many football fans were surprised by his resignation from Royal AM, considering he was regarded as the club’s greatest coach during the inaugural PSL season.

Maduka joined Maritzburg United shortly after leaving Royal AM, but his time there was short-lived as the squad struggled to win games.

He was afterwards fired by Maritzburg United, and rumors of him returning to Royal AM arose again, though Shauwn recently rejected them.

However, given Royal AM’s insecurity in the technical staff, Maduka’s expertise and familiarity of the team have always made him a strong option.

The length of Maduka’s contract has yet to be revealed, but the coach’s mandate is undoubtedly to keep Royal AM from being relegated.

It’s also uncertain whether Maduka will be the head coach, with Abram Nteo as his assistant, or if the two will work together as co-coaches.
