He’s doing well at the moment. But even if ignoring the Atletico game, he’s had some pretty rough games for us so it will just take one goal that ‘Vicario would have saved’ and then no one wants Kinsky playing for us again.

i mean, yes, sure. But i also wouldn’t feel confident saying Kinsky should be our #1 next season if we stay in the PL. If/when we’re in the Championship, i’d say yes. But i don’t think there’s enough body of work to suggest the kid should be our starting GK in the PL.

He has definite strengths, but there are very noticeable areas of improvement as well.

No doubt. More to prove which should help the team overall.

Also earned it with THAT save last weekend.

100% yes. I know this will get me downvoted, but I feel much more assured when Kinsky + Danso play over Vicario + Romero. I am happy for the latter pair to move on this summer if we stay up.

  5. De Zerbi has said repeatedly that Vicario is an important player who he wants back. Vicario will be between the sticks this weekend

Think it’s moot as Vicario will doubtless suffer some 6-8 month setback. But FWIW I’ve preferred him in the league to Vic and would stick with him

  7. Yes for sure. Vicario should take time to recover from the surgery. That said, I think everyone’s obsession with Kinsky, although a good gk, is due to it being something different. I don’t think he’s better than Vicario right now, based on what we’ve seen this and last season. After a good run of games our infatuation with him will die down and we’ll beg for Vicario or someone else to start.

Happily never see Vicario wear the shirt again tbh. Been a joke of a goalkeeper this season, hernia or not. And him pining for a move a few weeks back wasn’t a good luck.

Feel much safer with Kinsky in goal than Vicario.

Yeah, 100%. His distribution looks a lot better and he looks confident on the ball which is important for the back line, I’d imagine they are more assured about him as a pass option than about Vic.

If we get relegated, I’d honestly keep him as starter, he’s on low wages to begin with I believe and after sales I’d argue there are a lot more pressing positions we need to invest in with our limited net transfer budget.

  10. I think the opposite question would actually be more interesting. Who actually wants Vicario to come back into the XI for the run in?

  11. Yes. Vic is weak in his box and imo is not a good leader. I like the passion he shows but his screaming and shouting puts everyone on edge I think. He also has a habit of doing that when he is the one who made the mistake. I think kinsky looks way better post the athletico game

  12. I agree 💯 % that he should keep his place for the remainder of the season.

His form us better and his attitude is better

Be interesting to see what RDZ thinks…

  13. Kinsky has cost us one game with a bad display, after he was chucked in at the deep end.

Vicario has cost us far much than that with his inability to police his area on set pieces
