Ipswich win

QPR come to Portman Road sitting 14th in the table. Theyโ€™re winless in five and have lost their last three. Manager Julian Stephan has started to experiment during a series of dead rubbers for his side.

If Ipswich beat the Rโ€™s on Saturday then no-one can catch them. Second spot, a third automatic promotion in three years and an instant return to the Premier League would be secured.

Ipswich draw

A draw would take Town onto 82 points.

In that scenario, Millwall would take second spot if they beat already-relegated Oxford United at home. If the Lions were to also draw/lose, then Blues would almost certainly be okay.

Middlesbrough winning at Wrexham would take them onto the same points total at Town. Theyโ€™d have to score at least seven goals at the Racecourse to turn around the goal difference and goals scored deficit though, taking it to a better head-to-head record.

Ipswich lose

Ipswich have lost just one home league game all season (Charlton last October).

If that were to happen again then Millwall would still need to beat Oxford due to their far inferior goal difference.

If Ipswich lose and Millwall draw/lose, thatโ€™s where Boro could sneak in with any sort of win.

Play-offs picture

Wrexham (home to Boro), Hull (home to Norwich) and Derby (home to Sheffield United) are all battling for sixth spot going into the final day.

The play-offs will see sixth host third on Friday, May 8 (8pm), with the return leg on Monday, May 11 (8pm). Fifth host fourth on Saturday, May 9 (12.30pm) with the return leg on Tuesday, May 12 (8pm).

The final, at Wembley, is is scheduled for Saturday, May 23.
