Man City want to sign young midfielder

Other Premier League clubs interested

Bayern Munich could be biggest threat

Manchester City are looking to add a 17-year-old midfielder to their ranks, but he is attracting interest from a host of other clubs.

There are going to be changes at Manchester City and the midfield is an area where at least one exit is inevitable.

Bernardo Silva is leaving the club this summer as a free agent, while rumours continue to surface regarding Rodri’s future whereabouts.

Additionally, Tijjani Reijnders and Nico Gonzalez are both attracting interest and could pursue moves elsewhere due to their lack of match time this season.

Man City have identified a new midfielder

With the possibility of multiple departures, Man City have been exploring the market for players who can operate in the middle of the pitch.

According to Team Talk, they are interested in Nathan De Cat, a teenager who has made 40 appearances for Anderlecht this season.

However, Chelsea have been closely monitoring the youngster’s progress, while Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have all had scouts watching him.

Bayern Munich are Man City’s biggest threat

Along with these Premier League teams, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have all thrown their hat in the ring for De Cat.

Bayern are best placed to sign the midfielder, as their manager Vincent Kompany is a former Anderlecht player and Belgian international.

This connection could help the Bundesliga club to seal a deal. However, City could seek to entice De Cat by highlighting the fact that Belgium’s Jeremy Doku plays his football at the Etihad Stadium.

Nathan De Cat has the makings of a fine player

Standing at 6’4”, De Cat is a physical midfielder who usually takes up a more defensive role, although he has been known to play further up the pitch too.

The Anderlecht star has drawn comparisons with Sergio Busquets in the way he plays, and he is good at making interceptions and accurately placing long balls.

De Cat is the type of player who offers something a bit different to City’s current midfield options and he would be a great signing if the club can beat their competitors to a deal.
