Premier League clubs Bournemouth and Brighton are monitoring Millwall winger Femi Azeez following his standout season in the Championship, as the 24-year-old prepares to commit his international future to Nigeria, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Azeez, who joined Millwall in 2024, has emerged as one of the division’s most impressive performers this season, registering nine goals and eight assists in 34 appearances.

His contributions earned him a place in the Championship Team of the Season, drawing attention from top-flight clubs.

Report form Foot Mercato indicate that interest in the winger is intensifying ahead of the summer transfer window, with his future at Millwall uncertain despite the club’s push for promotion.

“While Millwall are close to returning to the Premier League, Femi Azeez could leave the club at the end of the season, with Brighton and Bournemouth closely monitoring him, although they are not the only ones interested,” Foot Mercato reported.

Alongside growing club interest, Azeez has also reportedly made a key international decision, opting to represent Nigeria despite being eligible for England and Spain.

“Nigeria have also approached the player and his entourage,” Foot Mercato added.

“Eligible to represent England, Spain and Nigeria, the winger has decided to play for Nigeria and does not need to apply to FIFA for a change of sporting nationality, as he has never represented England or Spain at youth level.”

“He therefore becomes a new attacking option for Éric Chelle and the Super Eagles, who are already well stocked in that area.”

Born in England to a Nigerian father and Spanish mother, Azeez qualifies for all three nations but has yet to feature at any level for either England or Spain, making his switch to Nigeria straightforward under FIFA regulations.

The Nigeria Football Federation is understood to have initiated formal contact with the player and his representatives as it seeks to integrate him into the national team setup ahead of upcoming international engagements in May and June.

Azeez’s rise in English football has been built on his pace, direct attacking style and ability to stretch defences from wide areas, attributes that are expected to add depth and variety to Nigeria’s forward line.
