The proposals received backing from Leeds City Council, which was set to discuss the pre-application for the modernisation of the stadium at an upcoming Plans Panel meeting.

Leeds United Football Club expressed their excitement in a statement: “Leeds United Football Club is delighted to unveil proposed images for the enhancement of Elland Road. This follows on from the plans outlined in September of 2024, to modernise and improve the stadium.”

The plans would raise the current capacity from 37,645, enhancing general admission and hospitality facilities, given the significant demand for tickets – 26,000 supporters were already on the season ticket waiting list.
