A leading football journalist has claimed Amanda Staveley is putting together a consortium with eyes on a takeover bid for West Ham after failed talks with bitter rivals Spurs.
West Ham fans have been protesting for David Sullivan and the board to sell up and ship out of the club all season – now Spurs may have helped make that a possibility.
After Karren Brady left the Hammers this week, speculation is rife Sullivan and co will be following her out of the London Stadium exit.
Sullivan confirmed he and Daniel Kretinsky are increasing their West Ham stakes to over 40 per cent each.
Staveley prepares West Ham takeover if key condition is met
However, it has been suggested the motives could be to make more money if and when the club is sold.
Earlier this season Hammers News reported on a development at Tottenham which was a crushing blow to West Ham’s hopes of a takeover.
What would you say if Sullivan put West Ham up for sale TODAY?
Let us know in the comments…
Following the departure of Daniel Levy from Spurs, one of the expressions of interest in buying the north London club came from Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners.

But the Tottenham ownership announced the club was not for sale, piling pressure on Sullivan and co given PCP’s links with West Ham.
Ex Newcastle chief Staveley put together a consortium using the funds raised when selling the Magpies on to the Saudi PIF and is said to have a reported £500m kitty to buy an “in” at another Premier League club.
Staveley is best known for being the kingpin who helped set up the Man City takeover before then arranging the Saudis to make Newcastle the world’s richest sports team overnight.
A prominent West Ham board source close to Sullivan claimed last season that the Staveley-led fund could buy into West Ham instead of Spurs.
Staveley’s US backers want West Ham – but only in Premier League
Now it seems that may be one step closer to reality.
Because Staveley is reportedly preparing a West Ham takeover bid after the Spurs snub – but only on one key condition.

According to top journalist Alan Nixon, Staveley is putting together a ‘takeover team’ of US backers with eyes on West Ham or Newcastle if the Saudis decide to pull out of the club.
Nixon claims Staveley is keeping a close eye on whether a deal can be done to buy West Ham.
The fact the Hammers would probably cost more than Newcastle – despite not owning their own ground – is not putting Staveley or the mystery US backers off because they prefer London.

However, the key condition for Staveley and her consortium to make a move to buy the Hammers is staying in the Premier League – ironically at the likely expense of Spurs if that was to happen.
Nixon points out that West Ham’s valuation would depend on whether they stay in the Premier League.
But he insists a price slash in the event of relegation would be irrelevant because being out of the top flight would put off Staveley’s backers.
Staveley chose Spurs over West Ham previously following Levy’s exit.
The family of Tottenham owner Joe Lewis even hosted Staveley as a special guest at Tottenham’s stadium for the NFL back in October.
But no deal was done and it was revealed by a prominent Sky Sports reporter that Staveley was looking at alternative Premier League clubs to buy instead of Tottenham.
West Ham could be that club – but only if Nuno Espirito Santo can lead his team to survival in their battle with Spurs over the final four games.
