  1. No Greig in the 11 is mental.

    Tavernier is also a very very strong argument Iver Jardine and I stated about fifty reasons why the other day. His defensive stats for five seasons were the best in the league while having numbers going forward that many wingers and strikers haven’t had at rangers. He also did it in a team mostly filled with diddies. Tav with Gough beside him would have been even more prolific.

    The first six months of Mols were also the best striker I’ve ever seen in Scotland. Absolutely fucking destroyed literal world 11 greats like Thuram, Cannavaro, Nesta and Mattheus. Without the injury he surpasses McCoist, but McCoist is so underrated as people say “he was just a poacher” not having a clue what they were talking about an just thinking about the end of nine in a row McCoist. His off the ball movement was only better ever by inzaghi in my opinion.

    Gascoigne was arguably a top 5 in the world midfielder. He was third in the Balon d or and was the only player apart from Cooper I’ve seen here who could decide a game on a whim. I like him to early Ronaldinho a lot, because he could be messing about and then you could almost see him “decide” to score sometimes. He’s better than every England midfielder from their golden generation and at his peak was an actual world class walks into any team in the world talent.

    Outside of those, I think an all time 11 for rangers is impossible because the amount of incredible players we’ve had over the years makes us think great players are average.

    My 11 and subs would be this. 4231 formation.

    Andy Goram;

    Gary Stevens,
    Richard Gough (c),
    Carlos Cuellar,
    Arthur Nurman;

    Graeme Souness,
    Paul Gascoigne;

    Brian Laudrup,
    Ronald de Boer,
    Davie Cooper;

    Ally McCoist

    Subs:
    Allan McGregor
    David Weir
    Sasa Papac
    Barry Ferguson
    Steve Davis
    Gio van Bronckhorst
    Michael Mols (pre injury)

    I tried to only include players I seen. I think the likes of Woods, Baxter, Greig, Caldow, Derek Johnston etc could all get jn a lot of teams but I never seen them play and only know how great through others saying.

    I could’ve done about another 3 line ups with different players that would’ve been just as good! Honourable mentions to Klos, Butcher, Hutton, Davie Robertson, Durrant, Ian Ferguson, Hateley, McCann, Jelavic. I could be here all day!!

    Slim Jim Baxter has to make the first 11. Which means dropping Albertz. Or playing him at left back if you really can’t drop der hammer! 🔨

    Ally McCoist up front is the only choice that matters, rest is just details around the main man honestly this team would walk the league in any era
