Nuno Espirito Santo has discussed West Ham’s chances of staying in the Premier League in his latest press conference.

Nuno addressed the media on Thursday afternoon ahead of the Hammers’ crucial game against Everton on Saturday.

They will probably need a victory against former manager David Moyes’ side to stay above Tottenham in the table.

Nuno’s comments should give West Ham fans plenty of confidence, as he showed no signs of nerves about the run-in.

Nuno was hired to keep West Ham in the Premier League, and his fate will be decided after just five more games.

The Hammers have given themselves a chance by beating Tottenham, Sunderland, Burnley, Fulham and Wolves recently.

They are now two points ahead of 18th-placed Spurs and three behind 16th-placed Nottingham Forest.

Therefore, West Ham supporters have more than enough reason to believe they are capable of avoiding relegation.

However, with some difficult fixtures on the horizon and Spurs expected to improve, their position remains precarious.

The good news is that Nuno is not feeling the pressure of the relegation battle at all ahead of the Everton game.

“Very confident,” he told reporters. “I think the performances of the team have given everyone in the club the hope and the belief that we are competing well.”

The Portuguese manager’s composed demeanour appears to have instilled confidence in his players, too.

His next job is to convince West Ham fans that they will be fine; the best place to start would be a win on Saturday.
