Earns him at least one more summer and 10-15 games of next season before judging his future imo.

  2. The problem is Newcastle are stuck in this cycle of being good enough to qualify for the Champions League, particularly with the 5th spot. But when they actually qualify for the Champions League it hurts them in the league that season. It’s turning into a borderline boom-bust cycle.

  3. below Aston Villa hurts given how poorly they’ve been ran behind the scenes, even worse if they win the UEL

Knowing how good the first few seasons were it’s very difficult to turn on Howe. But the poorer last 18 months have coincided with him changing to a counter attacking system. This isn’t the football we emotionally brought into.

  5. There’s definitely a fair argument for him to be given more time, and a summer under a proper high up structure.

My main worry is that we’re now not just in bad form but proper relegation form, and there’s very few managers I can think of that have been able to to turn around these kind of performances (for the few that would be given the time).

  6. Please someone call 999 for me, eyes rolled so far back that I think they’ve fell in my head

Well the table that matters now, which Is current one we’re 14th. That’s all I care about.

  8. Considering the two clubs directly below us have sacked 2+ managers each in that time because results and performances weren’t good enough, with one of them experiencing their worst ever PL finish last season, and Tottenham being just 33 points – which is nothing over 3.5 seasons – behind, while they sit in the bottom 3, this isn’t making a compelling argument.

Look at Chelsea just right behind us too. I guess they must also be in a good position and should stick by their manager.
