This is a stat that perfectly sums up the move from the Klopp era to the Slot one

  1. Old news. We know that the biggest problem with the team this season is the lack of intensity.

No coincidence that Man city and Arsenal are in a title race. Top quality squads combined with putting a shift in

  3. This is a bit misleading really. Going back even to the Klopp era the stats would show we would get “Outrun” by our opposition more often but our intensity in the press was what won us games. Same last season we were “Outrun” more but won games because we were more efficient in our forward press.

The dismantling of the team from last season was our downfall along with Slot not really playing the players to the best of their profiles.

  4. Sounds dumb , but we are still 5th and 15 points off arsenal, factor in the last minute losses or draws with leeds bournemoth Fulham wolves chelsea palace away and united spurs at home. We should be competing for the title if not being on top.
My Point is running more has nothing much to do with winning.
I suggest you show the data for the total big chances created and chances missed infront of goal.
We wouldn’t be here if salah , ektike and wirtz could have been more clinical infront of the goal and ibou didn’t have a stinker mid season.

  5. This just shows we cant run it back with a few new signings. The issues are deeper.

  6. We are literally morphing into our worst nightmare we are going like the scum after fergie left

So basically player quality is getting us and Chelsea out of jail, surrounded by relegation fodder.

People will clamour to point this out as an issue but I would like to see how many times last season when we won the league.

Running lots isn’t the key to winning every match, although not running enough can of course be an issue.

There are many styles to football and not every one needs crazy pressing and extreme running.

  9. This means very little. Tell me if we play Burnley and have possession of the ball for the majority, what team does the most running. It’s a narrative stat only

  10. This explains Arsenal collapse a lot tbh. They look absolutely knackered and have done since Feb.

This has nothing to do with available players either, it’s all the mentality of who leads the team.

This is exactly one of the reasons why I believe all talk about Slot staying is just laughable. He is 100% going to be replaced this summer by Alonso. There is simply no way anyone can look at the data this season, and interpret is at progress.

Liverpool can’t afford slipping for another season.

We simply don’t look as fit. Mac Allister has been carrying a wardrobe all season

Running about a lot obviously isn’t a cure-all, otherwise this would purely be an inverse league table, but you can compare it to where we sit in things like total/average distance covered or pressing stats.

Interestingly, we’re not so far down the table on those average metrics which maybe tells you teams are outrunning – us – specifically because they think it will work.

We aren’t fit enough to run. Our training regime isn’t as intensive as under Klopp, hence why we do not control games like we used to do.

  16. This is my main gripe with the manager, he had a ready coached squad that would outrun any team on the planet under Klopp. How has he managed to let that intensity drop so hard

  17. Forest…interesting. Wouldn’t have assumed that.

Also, if you saw last seasons stat of this, you’d be surprised.

Fucking embarrassing. How can the board continue to support this massive fraud? Please tell me it’s just public face. If they keep him on and sack him early next season like Rodgers, we’ll probably miss out on Alonso.

I typically wouldn’t be too concerned by this as we are a heavy possession based side, but what this does show is that when do have the ball, there is a frankly rage-inducing lack of movement. Like we have the ball, but no one makes runs to move the opposition and create space. They all just… stand there…

  20. This seems like the least Liverpool stat. Always have enjoyed that it’s been seemingly in our DNA as a club to outwork people and that was mega under Klopp. This is so sad to see now
