Fulham winger Harry Wilson is ‘ready to join Aston Villa on a free transfer’ this summer, according to Wales Online.
The Welsh international’s contract at Craven Cottage expires this summer and he has not agreed a new deal with the Whites despite a close relationship with Marco Silva, whose own contract comes to an end on 30 June. The 29 year-old was Silva’s second signing after taking over from Scott Parker in the summer of 2021 and helped the Whites win promotion back to the Premier League before joining from Liverpool on a permanent basis.
Wilson has enjoyed an exceptional last eighteen months as Fulham’s most consistent goal threat and has not been short of suitors since being able to talk to interested parties in January. The right winger, who has scored 36 goals and added 45 assists in 182 appearances for Fulham, has been a long-term target for Villa, who visit the Cottage on Saturday afternoon. VIlla boss Unai Emery believes Wilson can add an extra dimension to his side in the final third, whilst a move to Villa Park would allow the Corwyn-born forward to remain in England whilst experiencing European football.
Villa are understood to be willing to double Wilson’s weekly wage to more than a £100,000-a-week and believe they have seen off competition from Premier League rivals and European clubs to clinch his signature.
