Leicester Team News

Last time out, Leicester fell to an 18th defeat of the campaign. If the Foxes fail to win against Hull, relegation to League One will be confirmed. Many supporters have resigned themselves to this once-unthinkable reality, with a trip down to the third tier falling on the decade anniversary of the 5000/1 title win. However, it’s not official yet, and Leicester still have the chance to find one more miracle.

In the defeat at Pompey, both Caleb Okoli and Ben Nelson were unavailable. The defensive duo are likely to miss the rest of the season, which leaves Jamaal Lascelles, Jannik Vestergaard and Harry Souttar as the only options. In terms of other problems, Jordan James has been struggling with his heel, which has led to him only appearing off the bench. Aaron Ramsey is another figure working on his fitness; he recently returned to training.

As for the visitors, they aren’t enjoying a great run of form either. This may be down to injuries, as Toby Collyer was the latest Tigers player to be ruled out. Hull still remains in the play-offs, but the fight is once again heating up. Wrexham and Derby are close by; therefore, Sergej Jakirovic will be hoping that his returning figures can make a difference.

Regan Slater is expected to return for the crucial fixture. The midfielder trained on Monday and is set to be in the squad. Slater has been on the sidelines since the Sheffield Wednesday win; an ankle problem has kept him out for the last four games. Another addition could be Darko Gyabi, as he made his return to the squad last time out. The 22-year-old hasn’t been available since early January, when he came off after just 11 minutes.
