Aston Villa believe they have won the race to sign Wales and Fulham star Harry Wilson this summer.
The Villans targeted the attacking midfielder six months ago. Manager Unai Emery is keen to bolster his attacking options ahead of next season, and believes Wilson would suit his team’s style of play.
Wilson will become a free agent in June, and has not signed a new deal with Fulham. He is considering his options, but is believed to be keen on a move to Villa Park.
It’s understood Wilson will wait until the end of the season before making a decision. But if Villa secure Champions League qualification, Wilson is expected to make the move to Villa Park.
Villa are willing to double the 29-year-old’s wages, with a deal worth £100,000-a-week.

Wilson has had one of his best seasons in the top flight, scoring 13 goals in 36 appearances for Marco Silva’s men.
Wilson came through the ranks at Liverpool, but failed to make a single league appearance. He went out on loan to six different clubs, before joining Fulham in 2021 in a £12m deal.
He has gone on to make more than 100 league appearances, and has won 69 caps for Wales.

Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.
Sky broadcasts more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more with at least 215 live from the top flight alongside Formula 1, darts and golf.
Wilson is keen on a new challenge at a new club battling in European competition and for silverware – despite his relationship with Cottagers’ boss Silva.
“He was the one that brought me to this club,” Wilson told Football Focus recently. “I was his first signing so we have been together for four and a half years now.
“It has been really good [working with him], even from the first chat I had on the phone with him before I signed. We talked about the way he wants his teams to play and the way he sees me playing in the team. When I look back on that conversation, everything he said in that phone call was true.
“Looking back, it is amazing to see everything that’s come true for me. I don’t think either of us knew where we were going to be in four and a half years. So to have won the Championship and then had three solid seasons in the Premier League, that is great.”
