Leeds United are eight clear of relegation as things stand, and two games away from FA Cup glory as the semi-final beckons this weekend.

The Whites have a huge week in store under Daniel Farke at the back end of April. First, a trip to Bournemouth in the Premier League takes focus.

After that, Leeds make our way down to Wembley for an FA Cup semi-final and a potential chance to stun Chelsea in the capital.

Leeds United looking for FA Cup memories after all but securing Premier League safety with Wolves win

On Saturday, the task at hand for Leeds was to build on victory away at Man Utd, which left us six clear of the drop zone.

Against Wolves, a first-half blitz saw United race into a two-goal lead through a James Justin bicycle kick, and Noah Okafor’s strike at the far post.

A somewhat sloppy second half didn’t prove at all costly for Leeds, though. Wolves chances went begging and Dominic Calvert-Lewin added the polish in stoppage time from the penalty spot.

It now leaves Leeds eight clear after Spurs were dealt heartbreak at home to Brighton. With such a gap, it gives us fans a chance to relax somewhat ahead of a trip to Wembley.

Even getting to the semi-final is seen as rare success for Leeds. But, beating Chelsea on Sunday would genuinely be dreamland.

“They’ve been excellent” – Match of the Day’s Joe Hart and Gabby Logan tease Europa League dream for Leeds United

Dissecting our win over Wolves on Match of the Day, presenter Gabby Logan and pundit Joe Hart was rightly full of praise for Farke’s turnaround at Elland Road.

Looking at the form table since the beginning of December, Leeds have played 20 games since losing to Manchester City at the Etihad, collecting 28 points and sit ninth in that span of games.

“The form table is interesting reading for Leeds,” Logan began. “And it all goes back to the end of November, that game against Man City. That might have been the pivotal moment for them this season, because it was mid-game that Farke changed his system. Since then, they’re in the top-half of the table.”

“They’ve been excellent,” Hart added. “Even when they were losing, I didn’t mind them.

“Good spine, they were working for each other. Making Elland Road really difficult, but from that moment on it coincides with Calvert-Lewin scoring. Their confidence has just gone on and one.

“They could have a really great season if they keep pushing like they are.”

To which, Logan finished analysis on Leeds saying: “It could be European football for them next season.”

Premier League survival will be mission accomplished for Leeds United – FA Cup success would be incredible

Of course, coming into this season, you’d have taken going out in the third round of the FA Cup if it meant Leeds stayed in the division.

But, there’s a genuine sniff of the FA Cup now on the cards in the semi-final. This is already incredible for us alongside likely survival.

Beating Chelsea and then Man City (or Southampton) is a tall order, obviously. Although, the confidence we take from our performances in April means Sunday is a mouthwatering clash at Wembley.

When you see Crystal Palace winning it last year, why not dream of doing the same?
