Just hasn’t worked out for him. Never got a run of games together without his body breaking down and been largely unimpressive in the most part when he has appeared. Shame, as I had high hopes.

Think Schalke would be an excellent move if he’s going to be part of the first team. Probably limited opportunities at Ajax.

Heard so many amazing things about this kid but any time I seen him play he looked well below average

Agent talk for No one wants him, let’s try and get Rangers fans clamouring that he should be kept on

His agent’s work for sure
It’s unfortunate that he got completely fucked over by injuries and the youth pathway being a shambles, he needed a loan like Curtis did. Had high hopes but it just didnt work

Realistically, he needs meaningful 1st team football he’s still so far off it physically, technically, he’s top but he’ll never develop at Rangers sitting in the stands

Going to Schalke could be a rough one for him, largely because they’ll be favourites next season to go back down to Bundesliga 2. We’re running on the assumption here that Bundesliga 2 remains the same as it is now and Schalke retain first for the last games.
That being said, could also be a hugely rewarding move for him if he gets minutes. He’ll have to learn to play against very attacking opposition and he’ll need to develop his skills further past the ceiling you’d get in Scottish football.

This seems highly unlikely. He needs to drop down a level or two and actually play.

Do rangers have the monopoly on last name, last name players?

Hopefully he gets a move, that will help with his development.
He needs to majorly work on his off the ball movement. Outside of all the injuries, it’s the thing that has majorly held him back and stopped Rice from getting more opportunities. Multiple managers have commented about his off the ball work and how he needs to improve it. He hasn’t shown that he has worked on it.
He has the technical ability and has a big physique. It’s whether he has the drive and desire to improve the poorer aspects of his game.
If that can click and he starts developing, he could be a fantastic footballer. It’s whether it will or he’ll end up like Lowry, Kennedy, etc and other naturally gifted players, who don’t have the determination to be the best player they can be.
Josh McPake spoke about this recently, that until he had his kid. He wasn’t there, then something just clicked and he started giving everything and it’s paying dividends. Best player in the championship and won a move to Hearts.
