After personally helping secure the Bundesliga title, Kim Min-jae reflected on his season, saying it was a positive one despite experiencing competition for a starting spot for the first time in his career.

Speaking in the mixed zone after the match, he said:

“Winning the title feels great. I didn’t win it when I first arrived, but after that we’ve won it two years in a row, and each time feels new. We still have the Champions League and the Pokal left, so we need to prepare well.”

“I’ve never gone this long without playing before in my career, so it felt a bit strange at the start of the season. But looking back, it can actually be a good thing. I tend to sprint a lot, so I’ve felt that I get tired relatively quickly. The style of football we play requires center-backs to cover a lot of ground—on average about 11 km per game. Because of that, playing less can have its advantages. I used to think that playing every match was the only right answer, but I’m satisfied with the current situation as well.”
