Reading classic Brit crime novel, GBH, by Ted Lewis and came across this. Sports and reading are both supposed to be escapism. There’s no escaping Spurs.

What sad is our players are so unbelievably bad and make so many mistakes there’s no way we stay up. This lot can’t even win a single game in 2026 so whoever wrote this knew we were gonna recruit below average players that got us relegated.

  2. That’s one the biggest cons of following this club, is that when things are going bad it’s very hard to escape from all the doom and gloom, as it becomes a huge talking point. You’ll even see it being brought up in random places like Swedish politics! I’m sure if the other ‘Big 6’ clubs found themselves in this position it would be the same (if not worse), but they are usually never as bad as we are so haven’t ever had to worry about that scenario.

There may be fans of other clubs in the lower leagues who read this and think what a bunch of whiny fans, you’ve got nothing to complain about, at least you’ve won trophies etc etc (and I don’t disagree, we’ve had it better than most clubs, not that you’d get that impression when reading the general discourse around our club). I imagine for those clubs though when things aren’t going well, at least it’s easier to escape from all the gloom when the matches aren’t being played

I never understood when authors include meaningless details like “Swedish glass-topped desk”. It’s such awkward writing.

  4. It sure feels like the gods pulling the strings.

We are like 12th on expected points in a season where we have the most injuries ever (yes, ever) in the league, decisions going against us in every game and the slightly unusual prospect of there not being 3 incredibly shit teams.
