Harry Winks had a heated exchange with Leicester City fans

Leicester City star Harry Winks was spotted in an angry confrontation with fans after the Foxes’ latest defeat moved them a step closer to relegation from the Championship.

Saturday saw Leicester face Portsmouth in the early kick-off at Fratton Park, as the former Premier League outfit looked to boost their chances of dropping down to League One.

However, Leicester suffered a 1-0 defeat to Pompey with substitute Ibane Bowat scoring the only goal of the game in the 63rd minute to hand the Foxes their 18th defeat in the Championship this season.

After the final whistle, video footage emerged on social media showing Winks as he made his way onto the Leicester team bus to return home.

The footage showed Winks in an angry confrontation with supporters as he stepped onto the bus, before eventually making his way up the steps of the vehicle.

Winks left Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023 to join Leicester, in a deal reported to be worth around £10million.

The 30-year-old has since gone on to make 106 appearances for the Foxes during his time at the King Power Stadium, including 31 in the Championship this season following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last term.

Leicester now have three matches left to try and avoid relegation for the second consecutive season, but face an uphill task to stop themselves from dropping into League One.

The Foxes are in 23rd place in the Championship table and face Hull City on Tuesday night in their next fixture, where they would be confirmed as relegated to League One if they were to get anything other than a win at the King Power.

Leicester manager Gary Rowett, who was appointed by the club on an interim basis until the end of the season back in February

“I can say we’ve got belief,” Rowett told reporters after the defeat to Portsmouth when asked if the club still has belief they can avoid relegation.

“We need to show that in our performances and our results. I said to the players we’ve got to start hoping we get a little fortune from somewhere else. But I don’t like saying that as a manager. I’m not interested in what other teams do, I’m interested in what we do.

“We have to be professional. As a player, if I had three games to go and I was already relegated, I’d still want to win all three of those games. I don’t care. It’s about pride and your own personal standards.

“For me, we turn up Tuesday [vs Hull] and we have to do everything we can to win the game. It’s easy saying it. We’ve had two or three opportunities to show that extra bit of drive and we haven’t quite find it. We have to see if we can find it Tuesday.”
