Aston Villa are now readying a serious offer to sign Curtis Jones this summer after recent contract talks with Liverpool came to a standstill.
Aston Villa readying serious offer to sign Jones
The battle between Aston Villa and the Premier League‘s financial rules is set to reignite this summer. Even if the Villans qualify for the Champions League for the second season on the bounce, they’re likely to have no choice but to cash in on Morgan Rogers in the coming months.
The England international is reportedly ready for a new challenge and could generate around £100m if Aston Villa demand the same club-record fee that they received for Jack Grealish in 2021.
It would be a major blow, of course, but Rogers’ sale would also open the door to a number of reinforcements and finally ease the club’s PSR concerns.
Unai Emery could even turn to Anfield to find a replacement for his talisman this summer. According to TeamTalk, Aston Villa are readying a serious offer to sign Jones from Liverpool.
The England international would take the homegrown spot potentially left behind by Rogers and is seemingly ready to leave his boyhood club at the end of the season with contract talks at a standstill.

Aston Villa are preparing a move for a new big-money star this summer.
For all parties, it is a deal that would make perfect sense. It wouldn’t be the first time that the two clubs have done business in recent times, either. It was only last summer that Villa secured a loan move for Harvey Elliott, before he was handed a bit-part role.
For both Villa’s sake and Jones’, all parties will be hoping to avoid an Elliott repeat and hand the Liverpool man a starring role in the Midlands.
Jones set for Liverpool exit as contract talks stall
It’s been a strange season for Jones. This should be the time when he’s at the peak of his powers as a permanent starter at Liverpool, especially as Alexis Mac Allister continues to struggle.

That’s simply not the case, however. Instead, the academy graduate has started just 12 Premier League games and has often seen any momentum halted by ill-timed injuries.
With contract talks now at a standstill, Jones is expected to leave this summer before his current deal comes to an end and he becomes a free agent in 2027.

There is not a single midfielder in the Premier League that has enjoyed a better pass accuracy than Jones this season. Yet, Slot continues to look past him in the middle of the park.
It’s a snub that the Liverpool boss will regret if Aston Villa swoop in and turn Anfield trash into Midlands treasure, courtesy of Emery this summer.
