  1. Light years away from the quality this team needs, if he wasn’t an academy product he’d of been binned off years ago.

  2. Can’t believe fan channels are willing to let a local lad go for no reason. What’s wrong with being a squad player that can cover multiple positions?

  3. Only Szoboszlai should be behind him in the queue for midfielders we should let go. Travesty we’d be willing to let him go.

  4. 1) he’s a good squad player but I wouldn’t want him to start next season. It is time to get a proper DM alongside Szobo

    2) we shouldn’t do any business with Villa again unless they’re overpaying

  5. Jones is a good player. And if he goes to a mid table team where he’s allowed to be the man he could very well be a great player. The fact is he’s inconsistent for us and injuries have hindered his growth.

Furthermore *he’s* the one who has chosen not to renew, so it’s clearly his decision more so than the club’s

If we let Jones go, our HG is proper fucked. Also he’s our only midfielder that looks like he knows how to play with Wirtz. You would think both of these things are important.

  7. If Curtis was playing regularly for, let’s say Forrest, we would be all over him. And that’s why we shouldn’t sell.

We should be keeping Jones at all costs. He’s one of the most complete midfielders we have being able to play convincingly as a 6, 8 or 10.

Looked good under slot, looked good in title season, looks shit when playing style changed like rest of the team, only person leaving lfc should be slot , letting robbo go an having the greek lad at lb is crazy he’s shite a one legged robbo is mike’s better

I don’t think Jones wants to just be a squad player after so many years round the first team now. But the reality is the team needs footballers who are interested in playing the ball forwards quickly but Jones is only interested in holding on to it and playing side to side.

Brothers and sisters, let it go.

Our first 11 were nowhere near PSG and we keep talking about squad players who don’t make much of a difference.

Being a very good local player isn’t enough.

  12. He’s not good enough to start for us on a consistent basis. He’s a great squad player but it’s obvious he wants more game time at this point in his career.

  13. I Think best outcome is to sell him, Don’t rate him at all lots of huff and puff but then loses the ball or makes a mistake that costs us a goal, or misses a sitter that anyone else would have scored. Get Ā£20/Ā£25 Million and that’s a good bit of business.

Would prefer he stayed as decent on his day and local lad but realistically he isn’t going to be a definite starter. Rumours that the club and his agent are miles apart on the Ā£ side of things. Hope they don’t send him to villa though given what has happened with Harvey

Lmao, these comments here remind me of Diaz talk last season.

Its clear that the fanbase is more Slot-minded than Klop. Klop was all about improving what we got and not upsetting the balance with too many new players. Slot is the opposite. Who the hell expects 4 currently new players and 4 more new players next season to just work like a well oiled machine next season? Where is the dependability and consistency supposed to come from? Van Dijk alone?

  16. Jones is the perfect squad player. He’s the exact quality to come off the bench but understand why he’s not starting and a local lad.

If we sell him then our HG is in an absolute state. We HAVE to prioritise bringing in more HG players and personally I think it’s sad that we barely have any English players in/around the first team. We should have the best players in the world of course, but we need local lads who know what Liverpool means.

  18. When the manager comes out and says we have to sell, then pretty much everyone he ā€œcoachesā€ has got worse when they play, turns out the only players we might get some money for are the average ones who haven’t played much.

    Cheers Slot.

I think it’s Curtis who wants to go because he isn’t considered a weekly starter and he’s at an age where he needs to be. Not much more we could do if we don’t see him as a starter other than offer him a heap of money which we simply don’t do as a club. Ā

  20. He’s technically strong and can do a job but there’s a gap he’ll never bridge.Ā

  21. AnimeBritGuy on

I’d keep Curtis. Only way I see him going is if the rumours of the bust up/falling out are true.

  22. Slot: ā€œWe must get rid of the entire youth academy… my poor Netherlands needs somewhere to take its players to train.ā€

Inb4 you let him go then pay a premium for Adam Wharton like 80m. Need good squad players when midfield isn’t in top form.
