But Fabian Hurzeler will be in contact from high in the stand.

The head coach completes a two-game touchline ban as his side take on Tottenham Hotspur in North London.

They have so far enjoyed wins over Brentford and Burnley when he has been suspended.

Joonas Scheuermann appeared to be in contact with Hurzeler by phone at Turf Moor while Andrew Crofts was animated in the technical area during the 2-0 win.

The pair have licence to make big calls, especially if there is little time in which to act.

Head coach Hurzeler said: “I have a big trust in them and I said it to them before the game that, in the football game, decisions have to be made quickly.

“If they are convinced of a decision, I 100% trust them, and I give them the freedom to do it.

“If there’s time, of course, we are in contact, we try to exchange each other about the game, about substitutions, about individual things.

“But overall I have a big trust in my assistant coaches and they proved that against Burnley.

“They proved against Brentford this season, what are they capable of doing.

“I’m convinced they will do it again.”

Crofts will be up against familiar faces in the technical areas as Roberto De Zerbi calls the shots for Spurs, helped by Bruno.
