Sigh, another CB to be played at RB. This has been an issue for us. Why can’t we have actual proper full backs? Why is it always a CB that can also play RB or LB. Yes, it’s flexible, but it also means we have no specialists bombing down the flanks and effectively linking up with our wingers (which has been a problem this season).

Much better deal than anything we would have to pay for Livramento. Him and Arnau Martinez are cheaper and great options from La Liga.
I would like us to see the potential of a Kayode deal too, just to keep the options open.

understandable as paying whatever it would take to sign a player from the PL will limit what we can do in the forward line and midfield. We don’t need an upgrade, we need someone who’s available and can take the burden off Timber.

Positions we need:
1. RB backup
2. LB or LCB backup (depends on where you think Hincapie’s better at, we need the other)
3. A true 6/Zubi backup who Arteta will actually play.
4. A LW to compete w/ Martinelli. Unfortunately Trossard, who started off amazingly in 2025, has looked absolutely cooked in 2026.

I am ok with arteta getting his annual fix on a cheap defender.
We better spend in midfield and in attack to improve our technical quality.
We went from losing white, zinchenko,xhaka and Jesus and our recent rotation of madeuke and martinelli and gyokeres is relegation tier forward line.
Bertha need to use his contacts and flip madeuke and gyokeres in the summer and recoup their value.
I think we want be comfortable making these risky transfers but also respond quick when things don’t work out.

Why is Berta going for Mid players?? He is a “good enough” player and squad option level!

A right back who in theory can play complately across the backline, including Left back, feels like Arteta’s wet dream.
Quite an attacking option as well. Celta often play a 3-4-2-1 and he is used to break the lines from an advanced Right back position. Think we’d be exposed with both him and Calafiori playing but gives us the option to play Calafiori and Timber in one game if we feel their right side is weaker defensively or Hincapie and Mingueza if we feel their left side is poor. Could be interesting tactically.
