[Ben Jacobs] Richard Hughes won’t leave #LFC this summer and will lead a continued revamp, with 3-4 senior players set to arrive.

  1. If senior players are coming in then we will sell unfortunately. Dont see how it will be otherwise.

Is he signing a new contract though? Not interested in having him lead our transfer strategy if he’s just going to leave next summer with Edwards

  3. Yaaaay another summer of splashing 100s mln on star players like kids in a candy shop yaaaay

Arrive…… back from injury as we spent our 2020s budget last summer.

Wonder if Edwards will leave, since the whole reason they brought him on was for the multi club.

3-4 is not really enough when you consider robbo and mo are leaving at a minimum and ekitike out for at least half the season. Guess tsimikas and harvey are coming back.

  7. need a RW, a def minded midfielder, a LB, a LW/Striker (i know gordon is touted but he’s just as crap as Gakpo in the 9.) we also need a senior defender to rotate with VVD and Konate and cover any injuries.

Two wingers – one versatile and one young both quick
    A multifunctional center mid
And a cb especially if Konate leaves

Hard to know which players can bring back what we saw before or who we feel we need to replace. Feel we need a RW, CDM and maybe 1 more senior CB with experience before answering the below.

Can Mac Allister find his legs again is a big question, guy looks like he can’t run. If not we need another playmaker.

Grav was a monster last season but was it a one off after a bit of up and down with Bayern and Klopp before?

Gakpo looked as good as Diaz last season but very different players. This year ones pushed on at Bayern and one struggled here.

Konate obviously had a lot of off the pitch stuff going on will he come back as good?

  10. The side needs to add bite, physicality and warriors. We’ve too many players not up for a battle. Outrun at home by PSG this week. Not putting in the effort.

  11. Richard Hughes is fine. He pulled off some big deals. The manager has to go though. We’ve got no philosophy, no fitness, no belief.

  12. Truthfully I don’t think we know if Hughes is good or not; we just don’t know enough.

  13. Now that Hugo Ekitike is done until 2027, we do need a striker. Based on age and price tag, I think Junior Kroupi is an exciting option. He’d accept a smaller role and he has crazy potential

  14. One of Grav, Mac or Jones need to be sold. Robbo, Salah, Konate all leaving on a free as it stands. Ekitike out for a huge chunk of next season. Slot does not rate Elliott, Endo, Chiesa or Tsimikas. We need six players minimum. Two of them need to be starting quality powerful centre midfielders.

Forget about attracting anyone half decent with the bald fraud at the helm.

I certainly don’t remember reading that last summer’s purchases were a “revamp” after a title winning season…

We need at least two new midfielders, a winger for each side and two centre halves. Oh, and a left back if we don’t get Tsimikas again.

  18. Only 3-4??? We are short now and have major injury and have players leaving. We need quality AND quantity

  19. Assume Jacquet doesn’t count in the 3-4, and bear in mind Leoni due to come back.

The big issue is up front, and depends a bit on how much Rio will be playing. Need 2-3 wingers/forwards never mind elsewhere.

If its 3 players coming in. Fair enough

We actually need about 6 – RB, LB, CB, DM, RW, LW

So if we can cross off a CB, DM and RB, I’d probably be happy

For me, I’d actually like to see what Joe Gomez is like as a DM. I have a feeling he can get about enough

I liked Diatta from Senegal during the AFCON @ RB.
We really need proper defensive players coming in, instead of an attacking fullback

Seems like we’re running it back re: the front office and Slot. Gamble for sure (more so with Slot than Hughes imo)

So we’ll get 2 attacking midfielders, one goalkeeper and a striker probably.
