Bayern Player Josip Stanisic: “ I don’t think the referee knew he had already given camavinga a yellow card, otherwise he wouldn’t have given him a second yellow. Referees have lost their touch for big games a bit.”

I mean its still on Cama for doing that in a big game. Ref also signalled to him that he has been warned three times. I agree, ref couldve gone either way but it definitely wasnt unfair or anything the club can complain about
Btw this is exactly what I said yesterday, no chance would the ref have sent him off if he knew cama had a yellow. I also got downvoted when I said that although first and second yellows shouldn’t differ in theory, in games like this they absolutely should. However, cama shouldn’t have put himself in that position in the first place if he was on a yellow.

I think you can clearly see that in the video. He gives the yellow, walks away, sees Kane (I think) holding up two fingers, remembers it’s the second yellow, grabs the red and turns around.
Either way, none of this excuses the brain fart camavinga had. You simply do not risk such a stupid yellow in a critical match at a critical moment.

I don’t really see how that’s relevant. If he thought he deserved a yellow then who cares if he already had one? Camavinga should have used his head and not given the referee and reason to make that determination.
Razcal26 on
While that is a fair observation, Camavinga should also never give the ref a chance to be a fool because 100 times out if 100, the ref will always be a fool.
Just stupid all the way round.

It was still pretty irresponsible of Camavinga to do that. We can’t minimize his mistake by putting all the blame on the ref

He’s right but like why is camavinga (who knows he’s on a yellow) giving the ref the opportunity to give him a yellow. You’re not allowed to do what he did, there’s no blame for the ref here.

I agree. They lost their touch by being cowards and not awarding second yellows when it’s deserved.

That’s just fucked up. Who cares if it was his second yellow or not? Who cares if it’s Madrid? Everybody else gets reds, i don’t understand how what he’s saying is even relevant. If anything, it’s a problem.

Doesn’t matter, the ref decides it’s a yellow and it’s a deserved yellow. The game should be reffed correctly regardless of things like who’s already on a card. Too often you see officials not giving yellows because they’re scared to send a player off, no, just make the correct decision regardless

But that makes the card even more honest. The player is to blame there.

Yea some awareness from the ref would have been great but there’s no reason Cama needs to do that and put himself in that situation.

Referee already knew about that. Before giving the card he pointed 2 fingers towards cama and pulled out the yellow and then eventually red.

Vinčić singlehandedly wrote the outcome of yesterdays match. I dunno if he was just hot headed or just lost in the moment, but you just don’t give out yellows like that when it’s so close to the end and so leveled. Camavinga, as usual, was braindead from the moment he was substituted in, but I still think this would go to OT, possibly even penalties.
Maybe this was a blessing in disguise considering papa Flo’s hand is forced and now he has to change a lot in the summer.

Cama has been reckless for a while now and it was going to cost the team sooner or later. He makes questionable decisions and loses concentration. Getting sent off in 25 minutes is just not acceptable.
He doesn’t give you much on offense, and defensively he lacks focus. Adding this to his lack of improvement, it’s hard to make a case for him to stay unless he’s ok with a secondary role which, judging by his body language recently, he doesn’t seem to be.

Eh Cama already being on a yellow was his warning. He should’ve known better. It’s more glaring he forgot he was on a yellow this ain’t la liga where we get leeway.

While I agree with Stanisic, I also believe Camavinga never should give the referee the chance to give a soft second yellow. This is on Camavinga, and not the referee.
I actually wish that these kind of delays, grabbing the ball to slow down the opponents, would always lead to a direct yellow.

Quote should really read camavinga forgot he already had a yellow card and shouldn’t have been so reckless in big games.

There’s no criteria for 2nd yellow to be given for harsher challenge or something. Blame the brain fart not the refs

I need this guy to ref the Getafe game next season! 😂😂😂
Cmon guys, no excuse for Cama but stopping a quick free kick is common football in the 88th minute. It all got blown out of proportion. He should have just stood over the ball instead of running off and picking it up, but the principal is all the same.

“I don’t think it’s relevant” “a yellow is a yellow “ crowd really showing you never played the game a level like that.
The moment in the game, severity of the fouls/injuction and the type of game all matter when you make a decision as a ref.
By that same logic many teams will end games with 10/9 players
